Absolutely the worst, rude, condescending, and completely unmotivated, been using them for over 18 years sparingly, and every time I go, I get an attitude that is beyond acceptable for any business, let alone a small town, had numerous packages from Amazon saying it was delivered in my mailbox (which it would have never fit in there!) and never received. Come to find out that with their gps scan it’s delivered to the wrong address, going on 7 packages now! There is no accountability and ends up costing me and the vendor, countless hours, trying to investigate and fill out forms to get the money replaced for the missing package Just rude, untrustworthy and miserable employees, they give the same statement each time, that they’ll send a postal worker to the address it was missed delivered to and try to retrieve the package and redeliver it to me which never happens. AVOID going there and head over to Stony Hill or Brookfield!

My experience is that usps is so lazy they make you drive to there store to pick up anytype of package that needs to be signed just so they don't have to take a step out of there truck. The employees at this usps are lazy, rude and don't do there jobs. Use any other method to send packages that you can before you deal with them.

I ordered a brand new iPhone which required a signature and USPS delivered it to the wrong house. When I called the Bethel post office about locating the package, the guy I dealt with was rude and never called back like I was told. I was called from another person telling me the package would be retrieived and delivered to me that day... Didn't happen. I called the next day and I was told they were trying to get it back and nothing else. I get a random box at my door left by someone who didn't work for the mail service crudely repackaged on my doorbell camera. When I called USPS about my new phone going missing and now being used, I was told tough. Their mistake becomes my problem.

To be honest, it’s the USPS. You have life long employees who are beyond “phoning it in”. While most are friendly lifers, you’ll often find that they are unable to answer the most basic of questions or handle the most basic of tasks. For instance, in-person change of address forms do not get processed. In the last three years I’ve changed my address twice. Both times were only honored after changing it online 7-10 days later as mail was not held back. But hey, it isn’t important, it’s just the mail…..In my opinion, do all of your “I can’t deal with human error” business online and save yourself the frustration of willfully ignorant robots 6 months from retirement.Oh, be careful with meeting delivery drivers at your mailbox, I’ve found that one driver will hand you a brown paper envelope and demand you pay extra for postage days after picking up the mail from your mailbox. I’d imagine the letter would be returned if postage wasn’t adequate? Who knows, maybe the postmaster fronts your postage amount, then sends out your route driver to collect the $0.80 you didn’t pay days later? Around here anything is possible….Save yourself the frustration and do what you can online. Then sit back and watch the dumpster fire that is the USPS continue to burn out of control as private delivery services continue to excel. But hey, civil service, amirite?!

Thankfully was able to have Amazon ship only via their Prime drivers or UPS, by cutting out the post office. Today I called because the postal worker who serves my route, decided to put a LIVE PLANT in a box clearly marked in my mailbox, and the mailbox can get up to 130 degrees, needless to say, the plant was DEAD. Post Office said if it fits we don't deliver packages we put them in the mailbox, fair enough, although if it says Live Plant, why would it be put in a vessel that conducts heat - mailbox. During Christmas, was shipping a small box, and didn't feel I had enough tape on the label, asked for a piece and was told "you need to purchase a roll" we don't supply tape. Then why have boxes free, and no adhesive for the label? Just rude and miserable employees. AVOID going and head over to Stony Hill or Brookfield!

Have had three negative interactions with Cynthia now. This the second time I’ve had to go to the Brookfield post office because of her. She does not have a strong understanding how to ship packages and gets short with customers because of it. I’ve always come in with very straight forward shipping with QR codes off of EBay. There is always a problem with her and I’ve always had zero issue at other locations. Will just be bypassing the Bethel location from now on

Coming from Queens New York where post office workers and customer are separated with bullet proof glass I personally think the Bethel PO is fantastic! Professional and Courteous . 5 stars

Horrible service the two women who have been working at the front counter for many years still remain as rude and unhelpful as can be, there are plenty of compassionate neighborly kind individuals who would jump at the opportunity to have their jobs and pensions!! This town is built on kindness to one another and this our local post office is a sore spot for our community, the upside is that they are probably close to retirement so then we will hopefully have a more friendly nice and helpful staff....it took me many years to actually write this review with repeated incidents, what propelled me was I am expecting a package that arrived in Bethel according to the tracking on the 18th, took them 5 days to attempt to deliver and instead of delivering it the postal carrier wrote customer has moved!! Hence my package is now"on hold" and they do not pick up the phone, it's off the hook with a busy signal, the 1800 number is automated no one to talk to. Which leads me to no other option then to physically go to the post office.

Both ladies at the front desk were very rude and unprofessional. They were not very efficient at giving instructions.
