Ok so I bought a Wrangler Cash and I must say the buying process was pleasant. We agreed on a price (not a steal either) and were told they do a FULL INSPECTION to check things out before I would take delivery (they do not). This is not an all-out bash on AL Macs just my honest experience for you to learn from. I have owned jeeps in the past so I wasn't looking for perfection with 100k miles BUT This jeep is a mess. I put 400 miles on it in a month of ownership and now I'm in over 5k in repairs and not done yet. This jeep must have been under salt water for years. Both axle joints are bad, hub bearings and the entire steering yoke are rusted out , frame rusted/completely rotted, and pinion seals & axle seals leaking. Even the brackets that hold the springs were rotted with ten pounds of undercoating sprayed on to mask the rust. At this point after diving in, I can honestly say I don't think they are honest with customers just making the sale at all costs. I think they cover up many problems with paint to make things look WAY better than they are. Make the sale and it's "Later S******* Even the fluids I drained out were jet black including the trans and transfer case which are normally Red. It's not a bad thing to flip a jeep but mine wasn't safe to be on the road the day I drove it home. Would not have passed inspection in any state. When going in for an oil change and the guy calls and says "You Better Come See This" Suprise!!!!Now I do blame myself and it's not easy to say that. I should have known better and looked deeper. But you would think a specialized higher-end used Jeep dealer would have been more upfront. I expected some issues but this jeep was almost too far gone. I now have a lot more $$ into it than it's worth just to make it drivable and safe. Not a pleasant feeling. With that said and after you read this YOU NOW KNOW BETTER dig deep and have it checked out. Don't get Jeep love blindness. See the photos below. This is after 400 miles of ownership. Good Luck and safe travels.~BTB

In 2021, my wife and I bought two JKs from AL Mac Motors. Initially, we were excited about being Jeep owners. This was my second Wrangler and my wife's first. The first problem I noticed was that my top would whistle while driving. Upon closer inspection, I realized the top didn't truly fit this particular Jeep. I also found screws missing from the top's support structure. I noticed the rear window was tinted and didn't like to zip up fully. The rest of the soft top windows were not tinted. This should have been a red flag, but I was excited to own another Jeep and didn't think too much about it. When I did finally replace the top, I realized the top that was on it when I bought it was not actually for my Jeep and had been crudely rigged to fit. The new top fit perfectly. A few months later, I started seeing my "Check Engine" light light go on and off. I took it to a recommended mechanic who found several sensors wired incorrectly and in one instance in the wrong place and crossthreaded. I ended forking out another couple of thousand dollars to have it replaced. Just a week after I bought mine, my wife wanted one. We went back to Al Mac Motors, not yet realizing the problems mine had. The Jeep she bought had severe leaking issues with the top. We took it back, and their solution was to pack the door frame with some sort of putty. This worked for about a week, and the roof continued to leak. Once again, we had to replace the mismatched top to solve the problem. We had also replaced all the door seals prior to replacing the top. The doors never seemed to close properly. Today, we traded it in, and the dealership let us know there was frame damage, which explains why the doors don't close properly. Needless to say, neither one of us can recommend buying anything from Al Mac Motors. They buy broken Jeeps, throw together whatever they need too to put it on the lot, and wait for unsuspecting suckers like us. Putting lipstick on a pig.You have been warned!!!!!

Came in because I was worried about my ABS, brake, and sensor light flashing on and off. And they squeezed me in and took a look at the car in no time. Thank you so much! They are highly recommended for Jeeps repairs and are loving people! I will be coming back for new tires next month!!

I was in the market for a Jeep Wrangler and stopped by and looked at all the ones they had on the lot. Talked to Wayne about 2 of the Jeeps on the lot I was interested in. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. I took them out for a test drive and ended up buying one of them. They were very helpful thru the whole process. I am very happy with my experience and would and have recommended them to other people interested in buying a Wrangler.

I was having issues with my Jeep for the last several months. After spending big $ at the dealership I vowed to not bring it back there. So when the check engine light popped back up again I panicked. Brought it to a shop that claimed they fixed the issue just to have the check engine light reappear before I could leave the dang parking lot. I was desperate. I was suggested to try this place from another shop owner and am sure glad I did. I dropped my Jeep off and thought I wouldn't hear back from them for hours (took the dealership, and other shop days) so I was shocked when I had gotten a call from Wayne a few short hours afterwards that it was fixed and ready to be picked up. I was positive they called the wrong person. My Jeep was finally up and running and no check engine light! They even picked up issues that the dealership had missed! I will definitely be returning (hopefully not anytime soon, no offense :D ) and suggesting them to friends for repairs. They were super friendly, quick and no BS. I couldn't be more pleased with their work and the way they handled business. Thank you guys so much!

Bought a 1978 mustang 2 from them. I was told that the car was in perfect driving condition other than needing the brakes fixed. They agreed to fix the brakes and ac and do a general tune up. I ended up buying the car for 4k. Driving home, the engine ended up turning off when I pulled into my driveway. Figured it was some small thing that needed to be fixed, and decided to let it go and just take it to the guilford texaco. The ac was also still not working. Well, turns out the car is essentially just broken. Over 2k$ in repairs later the car still needs thousands more to become functional. Needed a new radiator, loads of new gaskets, a rebuilt carb, and had totally clogged exhaust ports in the engine that needed to be cleared. Along with many other issues. The heater core and tempurature sending unit is also bad and still needs to be replaced which is gonna be another 1200$+ and I'm sure there's going to be another issue that comes up after that is fixed. I'm aware that buying an old car is a risk and I totally understand them not wanting to buy the car back from me when I asked. I also do not believe that they intentionally misled me. But if theres anything that I have to say about them, it's that these people have NO idea what they are doing. Do your research when buying a car from them.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! After a good 15 minutes of walking around the small lot of jeeps they had, my partner and I were a little caught off guard that no one had come out to greet us and ask us if we had an inquiries about the jeeps, so we walked in to ask about a few of them that caught our eye. Not one single Jeep had under 100,000 miles on them and we INSANELY priced. We have been to overpriced car dealerships family and not family owned before but we were trying not to show the shock of how overly priced these cars were. Asking for 20,000 dollars for a Jeep with over 180,000 miles on it and that is not an exaggeration what-so-ever. Although the woman we spoke to was kind, she had NO education on any of the vehicles when it came to mileage and negotiation on prices and continuously ran back and forth for long increments of time to the point where I was about to tell my partner let's just go. We entertained the idea of one particular Jeep due to its lower mileage compared to the outstanding miles on the other and the year of the car being a bit newer, however the woman went back inside to "get Wayne" whichever Wayne that may have been, spent another 10-15 minutes talking in the office with him and he never even came out to talk about a price and/or counter offer. She came back outside and said "he can knock off 1,000." They told us this car had three totally different amounts of miles and tried to convince us that "jeeps run forever." We are precious Jeep owners and we know the ins and outs of them. In conclusion, don't waste your gas or breath coming here. Very unprofessional.

I've been meaning to write a review on this business for awhile now. Five stars isn't really enough to be honest. Wayne Sr & Wayne Jr are not only friendly & helpful but also super conscientious about their work. I'm a single mom maintaining 3 cars (my own & one for each of my daughters) and they always make sure they give me the best service that is necessary, without trying to convince me to spend extra money. I also bought a used car from them that is running like gem. Recently I had some emergency issues and they helped me out quickly & made my worries go away. I feel like this is an old school garage, the full service kind from the good old days, the kind your dad would want you to go to. Super thankful for this place!

I would not TRUST A WORD THEY SAY! I purchased a 2002Jeep Wrangler in December. Was lied to and it was junk! I have now put $4000 into it in repairs. Within the first 30 days of taking possession of it do not trust those people. They made me wait three weeks before getting the registration and title they ran out the warranty. I guess that's how some people to business nowadays cheaters.

Had my alternator go out on me halfway through Connecticut on a trip from North Carolina. Got my car to this shop thinking I'd be stuck here for the night missing my reservation, they fit me in and were able to get me back on the road making it to the motel before dark. Price seemed reasonable, quick and friendly service.
