Ship-Rite Packaging was wonderful! I needed to send a package for my niece's birthday at, of course, the eleventh hour on a late Friday afternoon. While I love the USPS for efficiency and convenience, I just couldn't make it to the Post Office before it closed. Because my route home was Guilford to East Haven, Ship-Rite was one of two really accessible choices. I called ahead and found that they were indeed open. (They even wound up staying a few minutes past closing.) I found them easily, just off Route 1 - you can practically see it from the door of the Parthenon Diner. Good location. Free, easily-accessible parking in a clear, well-lit lot. The sign on the door says that they offer notary services as well as shipping. A gentleman named Jon waited on me. He asked the same questions that the Post Office asks about the contents of the package. He chatted in a friendly manner (as opposed to the tone of an honestly overworked postal worker). I DID NOT find this at all nosy (as another reviewer had said) - and this chatting reminded me of the batteries I'd included and about which I had totally forgotten. That changed the way my niece's new crystal ball would travel and I'm REALLY glad that he caught it. Another gentleman, Ed, came out and introduced himself. I introduced the topic of supporting small local businesses and we spoke briefly. They have been in business since, well, since the last century. I don't understand the negative reviews because my experience was seamless. Simple transaction, and my niece got her present from Auntie Rebekah as planned. Thanks, Ship-Rite!

Sadly this business isn't really a business. It's a family of incompetent people. Hours - when ever they please. Don't expect fast service at the counter; don't speak as that just slows down the process. Highly unprofessional, overly familiar with questions that are down right nosey. Having compared to other places offering the same services; found that the price includes a lot of fees no one else charges. Not happy with the condition of the contents of packages. This on boxes they packed. Went here to support a local, small family business. I'm sorry I didn't just go to the UPS store. I'm frankly surprised they are still in business.

Don't go there. I ship packages on a daily basis and occasionally I'm in this area when I need to drop a package off. Every time I go in there he says there is something wrong with the packaging. Not enough packing material in the box items are going to break, box is bulging on top. I use brand new boxes and packaging materials, I put fragile stickers on the boxes. I ship glass and have never had a claim that something got broken in shipping. I am very professional. This guy is very unprofessional and I really don't know how how stays in business. I called Fed Ex and filed a formal complaint.
