I love having an independent bookstore in the neighborhood, and Black Rock Books is a fantastic independent bookstore! Their selection is well-curated and interesting - I've discovered a lot of recent favorites there based on the recommendations of the owners. They have a great selection of kids books as well. So thrilled to have them here!

Black Rock Books is exactly what the area needed because it’s more than just a bookstore. The community events and discussion groups bring the community together and the owners are strongly committed to contributing to the culture and vibrancy of beautiful Black Rock. The friendly employees happy to make recommendations from their inventory or to help me find whatever else may looking for.

Bookstore dreams do come true! This local gem is a haven. Beyond an excellent selection for kids and adults, they host regular events like author signings, workshops, and storytime for kids – always something new to check out! Additionally, they carry goods made by local artists. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and always eager to help. Their cozy vibe and charming decor make it the perfect place to escape into another world. I'm so happy they are a part of our community; their contributions help make it a joyful place!

The cutest little bookstore in town, this place has great reads for adults and littles, along with artisan gifts from local artists and makers. Great vibe with friendly staff and they always have something fun on the calendar- from author talks to workshops. Love this place!

The best little book store! The owners are so friendly and will special order books for you. They host lots of free events including children’s storytime and their selection is wonderfully curated to reflect both popular and diverse books. There is something for everyone! My kids often beg to go to the book store and we visit it frequently!

My favorite bookstore in CT! Black Rock Books has reignited my love for reading. I actually found my two favorite authors because of thoughtful recommendations from the staff. Their selection is also super inclusive and well curated. I HAVE to stop by whenever I’m in the area!
