Horrible experience. First I should have checked the reviews but I allowed the $300 direct deposit bonus to entice me so buyer's remorse is on me. However, them choosing to hold my check is on them and their lack of response to several emails is as well.They stated they were holding my check because they had reason to believe it would not be paid but they will not qualify their decision.This is unacceptable to me especially since when first initiating a deposit the message I received was that it would be available the following morning at 9:00 a.m. and they are not quick to send a debit card and do not provide a virtual card to use or add to Google pay while waiting.They also give me prompts to complete my account which includes ordering checks yet there is no option to order checks.I attempted to chat with customer service and the answers I got were quite aloof I imagine they are quite burnt out due to the numerous complaints they likely get and they seem to have no ability to do anything.I think this is a good situation for a class action suit. I am going to try to initiate something and others should as well in my opinion.

I filed an application to open a checking account, and I should have known from the first interaction that this business is not a good one. It took several attempts to apply online as their website is not functioning properly. And when I finally applied, they requested a bunch of documents to verify my identity, I sent the documents they needed (had to do that twice), just to learn they rejected my application. This is my worst experience opening a bank account. I requested the consumer report to see why the rejection happened. I have excellent credit score.

Absolutely awful. Like most I was lured with the signup bonus, and then immediately had my account flagged after trying to deposit a check through the mobile app. Now they're tying up my money and refusing to work with me on the process. You'll also bounce between Key Bank and Laurel Road and nobody seems to know anything. Eight days and counting! Save your money and bank with a reputable company.

Stay away from this bank, my account has been locked for two weeks and unable to access my funds. Do your self a favor and skip the agony of not being able to touch your hard working money.

filled out online application, uploaded all docs necessary, confirmed they received the documents and never heard back from them for over 2 weeks. Called them up to see what was going on and they said the application process expired. which probably means we lost your docs, forgot to process your application, so do it again....is this really part of Key Bank? Hard to believe.

Best bank out there. Who else pays $20 a month just to have your check hit your account. And a generous sign-on bonus on top of that.Highly reccommend

Do NOT use this bank!!! They are HORRIBLE!! New research nurse job at major healthcare system. First check is LIVE check and they put a massive hold on it claiming “unlikely to collect” HUGE health system, major cancer research center. When I called in, was LITERALLY SCREAMED at by customer service. Multiple people attempted to lie about regulations as if I was too d*** to understand banking laws. Manager told me banks do NOT call other banks to verify if a check has cleared. The list goes on and on.This bank has a healthcare targeted financial option because they think doctors and nurses are too stupid to understand financial regulations.

Do not I repeat do not sign up and use laurel road. What a horrible experience, never in all my life have I dealt with such unprofessional and people that tell you 10 different story's as they are holding up $5500 of my money. I repeat go to SOFI this place is a complete joke and says affiliated with Key Bank but when you go into branch they can't access or help in any way. Wish I could give them a ZERO!!!

A few weeks ago I was shown very favorable rates for student loan refinance on the Laurel Road website. The best rates I've seen anywhere, so perhaps their algorithm made an error. When I tried to apply I got a message that my account was locked. I called their customer service multiple times and was continually given an unlocking link that never solved the issue. I email back and forth with customer service a few times, also without success. The issue was "escalated" to management and Laurel Road went silent. It seems like a total sham of a company despite all the advertising they do. Steer clear!!!

Instead of offering rates that beat or even come close to their competitors, laurel road chooses to bombard you with spam junk mail after you turn their offer down. Keep your junk mail to yourselves.
