15 year + customer of Ship Shape and today, I handed in my laundry bag. Since the Bagley's have sold the business, the prices went up and the service has gone down dramatically. First off, they cut their hours. Used to be open until 7 pm weeknights, but now the door is locked and lights are off by 6:01 pm. Second , I handed off my clothes on Tuesday prior to Thanksgiving. Was told they won't be ready until Saturday as they are closed the day after Thanksgiving?? When I finally did come in to pick up my clothes, a very young lady was at the counter with little to no knowledge on pricing of items and why I am charged over $8.00 per white blouse when the colored blouses are are less?? - she had no answer. Furthermore, I was charged over $7.10 for a camisole shell. When I asked how much men's shirts were to launder, I was told $0.50 per shirt which leads me to pay 16x the price for a blouse than a men's shirt. I have blouses - one of which was in the load of clothes I picked up that has a men's cut - but was charged $7.99 to have that cleaned. But the final kicker was when I went to pay, the card machine broke and the young lady told me my card was declined (which was not the case) and then asked for cash which I did not have in that amount. Then she tried to hold my clothes hostage until the reader was up and running again (asking me to come back tomorrow) which I stated was not acceptable as I needed to wear some of the clothes the following day and left my cell number for a responsible party to call me the next day to do the card transaction over the phone. After waiting since well before Thanksgiving to get my clothes, I was not leaving without them. She got the 'manager/owner' on the phone and only then did she allow me to take my clothes home. This was the straw that broke the camel's back. I miss the Bagley's and their employees who would make a situation right and had the authority to do so vs. a high-schooler with zero decisioning authority. The new owners also have the nerve to keep the Bagley's signs with their commitment to quality up when they no longer own the place or have the same level of service. Outrageous prices for women's clothes to be cleaned on top of poor service and limited hours. You've lost my business.

Ship Shape kindly did a rush order for me. They are always the best - the reason I only use them when I visit Connecticut. Much appreciated!

Long-term intermittent customer. Having moved out of area a few years ago, I didn’t realize the former Bagleys owners sold the cleaners. Brought bedding in, a queen sized Portuguese blanket, down comforter and quilt bedding, thinking that they would of course be “green” dry cleaned as always (without any fragrance). However, upon opening my items from the plastic covers, the strong floral and chemical fragrance was overpowering. Even my husband agrees and he is tolerant of fragrances. I called and was told to call back Monday to speak with a manager. I inquired and was informed that indeed the business was sold about 2 years ago. I am so disappointed for many reasons. I believe the current owners NEED TO take down the former owners signage and stop advertising (falsely) that they are a green cleaner. Recouping the cost has taken a back seat to my concern that I have now ruined these quality items. A green cleaner in Torrington will attempt to wash these several times with fragrance free cleaner but there is no guarantee. Highly disappointed.

When the Bagley's were the owners we loved Ship Shape. So sorry they sold the business. I recently dropped off my bedroom curtains to be dry cleaned. My husband picked them up so I didn't look at them until it came time to hang them. They had been WASHED and they shrank 5 inches. I'm never going back

This has been our only dry cleaner for at least 10 years. Friendly staff and no problems really in all that time.

When I went to pick up my blazer, they pawned off an inferior one of the same size and color. However I dropped off a Calvin Klein with gold button- they gave me a permanently STAINED Ralph Lauren with silver buttons . On top of that- they argued with me that this was my jacket. I think I would know my own jacket. No follow up on their part for correcting the matter. As far as I am concerned they are thieves that should be arrested. Did you know they sell "unclaimed" clothing? How much you wanna bet my blazer in in that stock?

After doing business for many years up to a few years ago, I returned to the area recently and once again went to Ship Shape Cleaners in Brookfield. My comforter/duvet cleaning...a yearly task... was to cost $99...twice that of all local cleaners called for price comparison. My Zegna jacket, I'm embarrassed to say the original cost, would NOT be insured if anything should happen while in the Cleaners' care...according to the person in charge that day.

Quality cleaning with one-day turn around. Never had any issues with any of the items I have brought there. Pricing is on the expensive side and there is no clear pricing available when you walk in. You will need to request a pamphlet that you can keep that lusts the prices.
