“Although when I first moved to the area, I thought this place was very expensive. However, after joining the Rewards membership club with the discount, I found the price to be much more reasonable especially compared to the drive to either Home Depot or Lowe's. Customer service is excellent, especially Ryan who does FOB keys and provided an excellent service for me. Thanks for the excellent neighborhood hardware store!”

“Always my go to for quality and service. Family owned, sold to a long time employee, who continues the high quality and myriad services. This week is was paint supplies. But I own a 45 year old house, just renovated two bathrooms. So it's always something.”

“Welden markets itself as "your hometown hardware store" and they really and truly are. Great selection and service and they never hesitate to answer a question, provide some advice, and do what they can to get your household needs taken care of. They're not a huge store, but somehow they always seem to have the thing you need on their shelves. Definitely one of those places that makes Simsbury, Simsbury.”

“Great products and outstanding customer service.I purchased one of their metal security doors for a secure room in my house. It arrived on a pallet secure in it's cardboard packaging, well packaged between two sections of plywood for protection. After opening it up, not a scratch on it. The primary trucking company transferred it to a local delivery company for final delivery (a smaller truck with a lift gate). With their pallet jack, the driver was able to manauver it safely down my paved driveway and into the garage. My door and frame weighed approximately 225 pounds. My contractor installed it yesterday, anchoring it as recommended in the installation video. He has installed a lot of doors over his career and was very impressed with the door, frame, and locking system. His comment was someone would have an easier time going through my concrete basement walls, than through this door system.I am very satisfied with this product. So much so, I placed an order today for a second door for another part of my house. Wanting to have them keyed the same, their customer service (shout out to Anthony) guided me through ordering to make that happen, and he answered my questions on the lock upgrade.Again, great product and outstanding customer service!”

“Two evenings ago my furnace broke and as luck would have it the low that night was 12 degrees. The following day I attempted to have my furnace serviced only to find out it needed to be replaced and would take a few days. Fortunately I have two pellet stoves. Unfortunately I had just maxed out my credit card and then some to replace my furnace. I have only been a customer at Valley Home and Garden for the purchase of my pellets as of late Nov 2019, I just moved into this house. I went into Valley today and explained my dilema to Fred and told him my house was cold and I had kids at home and asked if I could please take a few bags of pellets and return the following day to pay for them. He said "absolutely! How many do you need?" I told him that I thought 4 would get me by and happily thanked him with a promise to return with payment the next day. He said "not to worry about it" only asked for my phone number and said I wouldn't hear from them for atleast a week and to take my time getting back to them. As I was loading my 4 bags into my car Fred came outside and said "would you like 8 bags? I don't want your house to be cold". What an incredible jesture and what an amazing act of kindness. I am truely greatful to Fred and those at Valley Home and Garden. I will be a return customer for life. Thank you.”

“This place has saved my DIYer butt more times that I'd care to admit. We used to go in there regularly for hardware, and to rent equipment. I've moved out of the area, but still have relatives the next town over, and when I need something of a hardware nature. I pass several big box stores to get to City because I know they know what they are talking about.Earlier this year, when another locally owned hardware and rental place couldn't be bothered to do the most basic part number search for a pulley on an older lawn tractor, I went to City and not only did they bother, they had the part in stock. Yesterday, I needed another part for the same tractor, they didn't have in stock, but they were able to order it. And because of their knowledge, they cross-referenced the part number and found me the right part at a fraction of what the labeled brand would have cost. You can't replace that type of expertise. You don't know what you've got until it's gone. Local hardware stores have been losing out to the big box stores for decades. The True Value in Southington closed decades ago, and our local True Value in New Milford just closed last week. The loss of that institutional knowledge is immeasurable. Can the staff sometimes be a little gruff? Maybe, but I'll take gruff and able to solve the problem over just ignoring you or not knowing what they are talking about any day.”

“Most pleasant Home Depot I've ever been in. The employees were engaging but not overly so and were all smiling like they were happy to be there. I'll take that all day long.”

“I always find what I need, but it’s not because everyone is perfectly trained and personable. But at least I can attest I get better help than in Lowe’s.We’re living times where unfortunately true customer service is fading.”

“Located on Route 6 in Bristol on its own land plot with plenty of parking, Bristol's The Home Depot is in a prime location. The store is full-sized and has the tan and orange color scheme you think of when you think of The Home Depot. Outside, there's a LOT of parking- more than they'd ever possibly need or use. There's a good 12+ spaces blocked off for a shed buying zone, and the entire side of the building's parking spots are covered in Lawn & Garden backstock, yet there is still twice the parking they'd possibly need. So, don't worry if you have to tow a trailer with you, or you're driving your RV. There IS somewhere for you to park your oversized vehicle. I really like their lawn and garden center. It's full sized- offering a half-outside/half-outside department, with plants, gardening supplies and lawn tools/equipment, and then stuff to put on the patio like grills, patio sets, fire pits & more. Then, in the main part of the store is pretty much all of home Depot besides lumber. This location is well staffed with helpful employees. While it may seem easy to get lost in a store with 20 foot high shelves, the helpful employees help you navigate the aisles easily enough. This location of The Home Depot seems to have it all, so it is a total bummer when I can't find what I need- like while there are soldering irons- I've had less luck finding flux or desoldering wick. I'd expect there to be at least one option for every product needed for a hobby/project. At the other end of the store is lumber and tool rental. This location has a great tool rental program, and the staff running it are friendly and knowledgeable. The lumber department can seem intimidating, but again, there are employees willing to help out. This location also offers classes for kids, which is so cool and necessary. One of the reasons I'm into DIY projects today is from doing projects as a kid at The Home Depot. Overall, if you're looking for an ideal experience at The Home Depot, this Bristol location is well worth the visit.”
