Stewards Ace hardware is one of the best places to shop. The entire staff are knowledgeable and extremely helpful and friendly. I can’t say enough about this store. If you’re in Clinton stop by and tell them Herman sent you!

My mother was a loyal customer of Stewart’s Ace Hardware in Clinton for over 7 years. She recently purchased a $900 Weber natural gas grill (Spirit S-425), believing it was fully stainless steel like her old Genesis. There was no floor model to inspect, but she trusted the store’s description and reputation.
When the grill arrived, it had only stainless trim, no wheels, and was clearly not what was expected for the price or based on how it was presented. She politely declined delivery and even offered to pay more or use gift cards to upgrade to the better model she was originally expecting.
Instead of resolving the issue, the store refunded her then left her a voicemail saying she should never shop there again. In their own words, they admitted it was a “snafu” and that they “don’t normally sell natural gas grills,” but still punished her for not accepting a downgrade.
This wasn’t about being difficult it was about asking for what she paid for. The retaliation, lack of accountability, and ban after 7+ years of loyalty says everything about how this store handles mistakes.
We will never shop here again. If this is how they treat long-time customers, I encourage others to think twice before doing business here.

I love this store! Today I came in for a specific cleaning product, Mike was amazing and helped me find exactly what I was looking for, he even pointed out an additional sale that came with the product (which I most likely would not have noticed lol). Great experience overall and great, knowledgeable customer service!

Moved to the shoreline area 4 years ago. This store has been the most helpful of all stores on the shoreline. They meet you at the door and not only sell you the products you need but physically help you apply the products to your needs. This not a one time experience, but an every time experience. They really are the best!
