If I could leave no stars I would. Perhaps leaving one will prove it wasn't an oversight. This pharmacy has been steadily going downhill since before the COVID scare. More recently I have found that when my prescriptions were complete, the text messaging system drives us crazy to pick up but then, when you drive down, it's likely the pharmacy staff won't be there. Once, I arrived at the store at opening (as advertised online and on the door of the store) and the place was empty except for myself and another annoyed patron who drove down only to find that the pharmacy was in fact closed and there was nobody to inquire as to what was going on. That day I made three trips to get one prescription, 8:15 am and then 10:30 am and was able to ask the person at the register when I might be able to pick up my order. They said, I don't know, maybe after 12 noon? I actually found them open at 3:15 pm. Yesterday I went at 8:30 and the same happened, four patrons, no staff and pharmacy closed. Clearly, there had to be someone there because the door was open and the lights were on but everyone who purchased anything used self-check out. Went to pick up groceries, came back, same thing at 10:05-I'm done! I will be contacting CVS Corporate and letting them know that they should note on their site that the pharmacy may or may not be open depending on whether the employee's decide they wish to sleep late or show up at work. Either way, I'll be sourcing a new pharmacy tomorrow morning. Someone should make this establishment aware that they won't be in business long if they continue to do what they are doing and I'm sure Corporate will love to hear that Salaries are being paid for people who don't even put in the hours for their wages.

EXTREMELY DISORGANIZED. The pharmacy is always short on medications. I call ahead and they say it's ready . I get there and wait in line anywhere between 5 to 10 people long with many customers checking in and still have to wait. i have a coupon for my prescription and then wait another 25 minutes so the pharmacist can put the copay coupon card medication thru. Mind you I called ahead and was told it was all set with the coupon copay price. I went to buy vitamin c tablets at 20 dollars and the expiration date on the bottle was in a month. The pharmacists always look stressed out. I must add the sales counter woman was extremely polite and pleasant throughout the 1 hour I had to wait. She deserves a raise. So many customers were upset and curt with her for anumber of different reasons and she handled them pleasantly.

Consistently bad service, long wait lines, unprofessional, unorganized "techs" conducting inappropriate conversations about coworkers and customers, prescription never ready... even after recieving a confirmation call.I also notice a lot of frustration among customers with each visit. This place used to be great some years ago, but have now switched pharmacies.

Every time I come here there's an issue. There's no reason why a prescription my doctor sent in at 10:30 the previous morning should need to be "expedited" with a half hour wait at 4 pm the next day. Absolutely ridiculous. I should have it the evening it's been ordered. I'll be sending my prescriptions to the Walgreens down the road from now on.

Very depressing atmosphere when you walk in. Carpet seems kinda dirty, there is product in boxes in the aisles and what is on the shelves is picked through, not in the correct place. Seems like there is not enough trained staff to keep the place presentable. I mean there are people there who are at work but....... I checked out at a self checkout and needed assistance with an age restricted purchase of cold medicine. The guy kinda looked at the flashing light on the checkout and looked really bothered that he had to come over and swipe his little card. DO BETTER CVS!!!

About 10-15 years ago, the Colchester CVS was stellar. Back then, I never understood the overwhelmingly negative reviews for CVS that I found on national websites like Consumer Reports. There was a personalized feel at Colchester CVS and there were certain staff members who recognized me by face, even though I was only there every few months. Nowadays, the staff turnover at Colchester CVS is so frequent, I don’t recognize anyone working there.Meanwhile, for over 15 years, I’ve taken a maintenance med that’s recently been part of a *national* shortage. The CVS pharmacists and support staff are fully aware of the shortage. Yet, when my dr. has sent Colchester CVS the RX request for this med each month, CVS has sent me texts stating that the med is being “special ordered” and that CVS will contact me *when* the drug has been sent to them and filled. (BTW, it’s not a narcotic, and I’m not a drug abuser). Meanwhile, the CVS pharmacy staff is fully aware the medication will never actually arrive. My dr. is also (FINALLY) aware of the shortage, but she still insists upon trying to use CVS to fill my RX.I’ve gone to CVS Colchester *in person* and spoken face-to-face with the actual PHARMACIST there about my medication back-order. He’s told me TO MY FACE that he “special-ordered” my medication and that it will be filled for me. For several months, I’d actually believed it was just a matter of my local Colchester branch being out of stock. I kept holding faith that my med had been “special-ordered” by Colchester CVS and would eventually be filled. This song-and-dance with CVS has been going on for over six months.Again, this particular med is actually back-ordered from THE MANUFACTURER. The warehouses that supply CT CVS pharmacies currently have NOTHING to send. CVS can “special-order” this med till the cows come home, but it will never be back in stock. (Smaller pharmacies with less customer volume may actually have some back-stock available, however).Of course, this manufacturer backorder is not CVS’s fault, and I’d never blame them for things that are outside of their control. It’s the LYING that I abhor! It would be so much more helpful (and less time-consuming) if only CVS would be HONEST with my doctor and me about the drug’s availability, so I could try to find another pharmacy to fill the RX.The pharmacists and staff at Colchester CVS continue to *pretend* they’re ordering a special supply of my medication. It’s obvious that they just want us patients to sit idly by and stop asking about the med’s availability. I’m sure “corporate” has instructed each CVS branch to keep stringing patients along just to keep them coming back. There is NO WAY the CVS pharmacists are NOT AWARE of the manufacturing backorder. It’s been all over the news; everyone in the immediate area - whether they take this medication or not - has been made aware of the shortage. The same thing happened a year ago with another medication of mine. I had to compel Colchester CVS to search for other branches that had the drug in stock (because they kept feigning that they’d be filling the RX eventually). Once they transferred my RX info to other CVS locations, it was filled (although I had to drive to faraway CVS pharmacies to obtain it). If I hadn’t forced the issue at Colchester, though, I’d STILL be waiting - 10-12 months later - for the Colchester CVS branch’s “special order”. I’d wasted many weeks waiting for my “special order” to come into Colchester; it wasn’t until I *demanded* answers in person that the order was placed with another CVS that had some old stock. As for today’s backordered medication…I’m still waiting to find ANY pharmacy to fill my RX. Because the CVS website kept falsely indicating that the med had been “special-ordered”, my dr. didn't know the RX was never filled. Colchester CVS has been NO HELP whatsoever. Today alone, when I tried to inquire about the status of my RX, I sat on hold for over 16 minutes straight. I called during regular (non-lunch) business hours. Nobody ever picked up the phone.

The people in the pharmacy hate their job. My prescription is never ready, even when I've called it in days prior. I actually dread going to pick up my prescriptions here. There are some helpful, pleasant people who work at this location, but it's few and far between. CVS corporate should really pay attention. But they won't.

A select few who work in the pharmacy hate their job. You can tell when they greet you, answer the phone, look up information. They are disappointed that they work at CVS. I always try to be pleasant, and patient. But I just hate going here. Actually I dread going here. Some of the people who work at the pharmacy are very nice, helpful, competent. When I found out my prescription was out of stock the woman said "call around to see if any other locations have it" No. That's your job. She gave me no indication when it would be in. When I finally asked if they were actually going to order it, it was like I was asking her to fulfill this gargantuan task. So now it's been a week without this medication....fine..not life threatening, but my goodness...not a call to tell me it's out stock last week, THEN be a j*** about it? I've worked retail. It sucks. So I try to be extra nice to people who are trying, but NO ONE at CVS in Colchester is trying.

I like that they text me ahead of time about my medicine. But in the beginning they list my medicine I had to go a month without it.

I had a great experience with the entire pharmacy staff. When I had a problem with a prescription several people worked to solve the problem, including the pharmacist. Deanna in particular made me feel like a valued customer.
