The staff is incredibly helpful in guiding me through some decisions and educating me on my choices. They even carried the bottles to my car. “As always, the food at Moderne Barn was outstanding. We had the NY strip steak and the Honey Garlic pork and both were truly delicious. The Honey Garlic pork may be the best thing I've ever been served, anywhere. An amazing dish I highly recommend. My rating of only four stars is because service wasn't great. We think our server left early and it seemed no one was around to help us. When a waiter did arrive, he seemed a bit put out that we wanted to order dessert! We chalked it up to a lack of communication on someone's part, and didn't let it ruin our evening.”
“This is an amazing place that is locally owned. I highly recommend coming here. The service is impeccable based on suggestions, customer service and helping you with everything from an everyday wine, beer, seltzer, liquor, and large catering events. LaBella's is easy to get in and out of based on its location and the quaint atmosphere is a welcomed change from typical liquor or wine stores. The staff is not pretentious and will give you great recommendations regardless of your budget. They also have a special cabinet that is first come first serve for hard to find or highly coveted liquor. This is a place to come and experience and I believe will become your favorite place to purchase adult beverages. They have decent hours and will also deliver. I love to support local small businesses!”

“I recently moved to the area and was looking for a wine store with a good selection where I could talk with the staff about my preferences etc. I'm not a super-adventurous wine drinker, but open to trying new things when I feel like an expert is giving me good guidance. At Horseneck, they set up a profile for you so they record what wines you've bought and, when you come back, they'll take notes on what you liked, or not. Got six wines on my first visit, loved 4, and appreciated the other two because now I know better what I do /don't like as much. If you want a place where the knowledgable staff really listen, Horseneck is worth a visit (and fwiw I've never had a problem parking in front of the store, even though it's on E Putnam).”
“Judging by all the other positive reviews of my father's store, it's pretty clear that he had an issue with a young and very rude person who repeatedly parked in a clearly marked space for his store while multiple other spaces were available...even worse, this person did the same thing the previous day and was nicely asked to not repeat the behavior to which he replied "it's no big deal"...so the next day when he again parks where he shouldn't when many other spaces are available, he says that "no one is buying wine now anyway" so apparently feels that he is entitled to do whatever he wants...this seemingly privileged person doesn't have any respect for any rules while wearing a "security" shirt...I hope he doesn't apply that same attitude to his workplace where rules are optional and respecting them is for other people...”
“I've slowly found myself choosing to frequent this shop rather than the larger retailers in the area. This is a rather small shop with a limited but decent selection and courteous staff/ owners. Very convenient option if you live downtown. Parking can be tricky as with most shops on Bedford but once inside service is quick and efficient. The prices are comparable to the big warehouse stores in town so it's great to be able to stop in to support a local business. Of all the random shops that come and go on Bedford st this is one of the few that actually remains open year after year and that actually makes sense.”

“Had another wonderful dinner at Oko with my wife. A good indication of how attentive a Japanese restaurant is with the offerings is the freshness of the edamame -- just the right "bite" with very light seasoning (not salt-forward), warm but not hot, and not sitting in water. The 10 piece sushi dish was perfect, just the right size and with subtle embellishments that one can find in the best Tokyo/Kyoto restaurants. They even made an Buffalo Trace Manhattan for me and had a nice, dry sake for my wife. Highly recommended along with the chef/owner's other top notch restaurants. Special shout out to the staff as well and for José's attention to detail and great service.”
“We may have simple tastes, but Wine Geeks makes it a pleasure to wander in, or even call up, and piece together a case of tasty options to suit our mood that won't break the bank. Making lovely suggestions when it might be worth the $30 bottle instead of the $15-$20 ones. They have amazing service and good systems that make it easy to call up and ask for another case like one you've ordered before or even make some small adjustments, then just drive by and grab it! They're also good about keeping a couple bottles of various whites and bubbly cold if needed in a hurry.”

Alex has been great at recommending wines that he knows I’ll like, and also some unexpected gems. Its a really interesting selection and at good prices. My fave wine store in the area!”

“Great staff. Not a super store yet their pricing is better than the other tiny stores in the area. If you need something specific they are happy to order if available. Great place to go to overall AND parking is easy. Plus, you can grab some chips, dips and aspirin/tylenol across the way and a great acai bowl next door. Better yet, grab a six pack cold right after ordering a pizza nearby. Life doesnt get simpler than that... ?????????”
