Change your hours because this is the 2nd time I've tried going inside and some old gentlemen waves me away. I've gone at all hours of the night too.

Sooooo....this place is terrible! My girlfriend recently was almost scammed out of 500 dollars in lottery winnings by that old man that works overnight. Luckily she noticed when the ticket was scanned it was immediately deleted from the lottery winnings screen. WE would highly advise you take your business somewhere else so this has no chance of happening to you!

DO NOT BRING LOTTERY WINNINGS TO THIS LOCATION UNLESS YOU ARE 100% SURE OF YOUR WINNINGS. THEY TRIED TO SCAM ME FROM MY $500 WINNER
I have already sent a letter to CT lottery directly. The older male gas station attendant tried to steal my winnings last night. Around 7:00-7:30 I won on 5 tickets that I had bought earlier in the day at different location. I won $50 on a $30 cash word and won $50 on three $50 fortunes and won $500 on a $50 fortune. Knowing it would be too late to bring the $500 in I brought the $200 in to buy more tickets. When I went in they said they can’t cash because they didn’t have enough money in the drawer and asked how much is that and I said it’s $200 but I want to get more tickets with it all. I never told them I had a $500 winner because I thought I left that at home so he was unaware I knew I had a $500 winner when he tried to con me. The guy scanned the tickets and when I looked up I noticed it said $500 and then the $500 was gone from my total and it said $150 on the screen and he said yep you won $200 what do you want for tickets. And I was like wait a minute that said $500 I also won $500 but I thought I left that ticket at home. (I mixed up one of the $50 and the $500) he acted all frazzled. And the other lady came over and she was like oh no did you just press the cash out button. And he hadn’t. As soon as he saw it was $500 and I had told them I won $200 he deleted it thinking I wouldn’t notice. Since he deleted the $500 the screen said $150 and he kept saying no you won $200 and if he wasn’t trying to con me and really didn’t do it on purpose why would he say I won $200 even though the screen said $150 (since he immediately deleted the $500 after scanning it) I am a benefit of the doubt kind of person but this was blatantly an attempt to steal my $500 winnings. I buy tickets almost everyday and have the app and always watch the screen when they scan but someone new to scratch tickets could have easily been conned by this man. I got my ticket back but am writing to report this man so that this does not happen to someone else. Absolutely disgusting. I’m 34 years old and I buy tickets almost every day sometimes twice a day and I have never had someone try and do this to me anywhere. Ever. I will never be coming back to this location and I will be passing this information on to anyone who will listen.

Don’t go to Cumberland Farms! Come to all town gas station in Cromwell instead. I didn’t catch the gentleman’s name behind the counter, he was middle-aged and had such a wealth of information about the few things I asked! Paid like four dollars less than what I would’ve had any other gas station. This place is amazing. I’m not sure all the negative reviews are about. Great place and friendly people!
UPDATE: went back today and saw Margie! She gave me a loyalty card and every single piece of information I could’ve asked for! The other guys name is Vinny and he’s so cool! Please support this place! They really are special. The loyalty program is AMAZING!

Poor service received. Was told to get out after going inside and ordering gas and a drink. Was told "I don't like anyone hanging out we've been robbed twice now"... with Cromwell pd already parked in the lot... I needed a moment to collect myself before driving as it was late. Don't offer to be open if you chase customers away with old non uniformed employees who look like they tied up the real associates earlier in the evening!
No I don't want to leave an email but at 2am I was compelled enough to leave this feedback.

I don't know what happened to this place - they are no longer 24 hours. Store & Management used to be awesome. Now they close at random times with paper signs on the door for non religious reasons which is different for each customer! Absolutely ridiculous in 2024 - doesn't take 26 random minutes to run a computer report. Sorry. Do better alltown/shell/etc. Or post the correct hours for your store online. Don't advertise it as 24 hours anymore because some people may actually need fuel/medicine/etc.

I saw the reviews and was like “how can it be that bad?” But i guess it is—I had to call them and after like 9 rings someone sighed, picked up the phone and before i could get 4 words out they hung up on me. So i guess the service just isn’t great

Employee was super rude about my using the bathroom. She insisted there were out of order signs on the bathroom doors, which she put on while I was in there. It was a very sketchy interaction with some suspicious characters about. I was going to purchase some stuff from the store but left promptly because of this weird interaction. I will not be returning.

While the shelves are usually stocked and fresh food well kept during the day, the overnight guy destroys it. People during the day are casually nice, about what you expect. And they do the Amazon delivery well. But the overnight man, with the long grey beard, has an attitude problem and will often talk down to you. Once I had a question and didn’t want to block the register line so I stood off to the side while he finished his last customer in line. As the customer left, he pointed in front of the register and said in a angry tone “line is over here, or you can leave”. I asked about some food without moving and he said they didn’t have any without even looking. I came in and asked about Amazon package I had delivered there. Amazon hub is supposed to be available as long as the store is open. He doesn’t know how to operate it, so he lies and says it’s locked down. Every time I pass the store, he is outside smoking. For a guy his age, you’d think he’d be wiser but just comes off as a lazy angry teen. He does not want to be there and it shows. Oddly, he has been there for a long time. Only reason I see why he is there is possibly nepotism. If he left, or took depression pills, the whole store would be a lot better off.
