What a great place. Old books, cheap 2$ for hardcopy. Cafe with friendly folks, 3$ coffee. And fantastic places to sit amongst old books, old brickwork, wood floors. Lots of character. Attached thrift store, everything is cheap and old, mostly busted and dented but that's ok.
Small goat pen, plant store, outdoor seating. Great place to spend a few hours and a few bucks. Donations accepted of old stuff.

I was here for the first time today and had a wonderful experience. Your staff let me hold 2 snakes conquering my fear of them. Your staff in the bird and animals rescue were amazing! I spoke with someone who only worked there a few weeks who was so well educated on every animals background. you think they had been working there for years. So nice so polite so Informative. Then we went to sit with the goats. All had names and staff knew each of them. The thrift store is as clean as possible with the massive amount of inventory they have. Unfortunately me and my roommate had run out of time to explore the rest of the grounds. We also had a historical tour of what the original building and grounds were and how it tied into the rest of deep river. I'll be back again for sure so I can check out more things. What a wonderful experience

some of these animals have worse living conditions than they would at a zoo. though the people that work with the animals here are incredible, you can tell they care very deeply and work very hard. There just isn't enough space- but if the owner can make some money off of cramming exotic animals into that tiny building then whats anybody to say about it. Last i checked they had two adult whites TREE FROGS in a horizontal 10 maybe 15 gallon tank. Thats cruelty. Hopefully it's since been changed. The owner was also keeping fully grown ball pythons in plastic containers with nothing but a water bowl and newspaper which made me feel so gross and horrible for those snakes. Plenty of these animals deserve so much more than being shown off for a 10$ entrance fee.

in response to being asked if i brought up my concerns, i did! i was shut down multiple times because apparently the owner knows what is best for the animals. Also, any amount of research can tell you that the living conditions of multiple of the animals are in fact not correct or good for them. tree frogs live in canopies, love to climb, and belong in a vertical enclosure. a 10 or 15 gallon tank is barely big enough for a single adult let alone two. we were also told to fill all the animals bowls with tap water repeatedly by the owner, and when we brought up the fact that reptiles and amphibians were sensitive to chemicals in the water, we were told that plastic bottles would filter the chemicals out. again yes i brought up my concerns and nothing was done- this is one of the reasons i left. That’s all i have to say, thank you so much for your thoughtful response!

Top tier experience, there’s so much to do and see I literally spent 2 hours there. Everything is also very reasonably priced. The thrift store had 2 floors, with stands outside. There’s animals out back, and a cute cafe. Also check out Ashleigh’s plant shop when you first pull in ?

This place was awesome. Absolutely a “hidden gem”. They had a ton of thrift and vintage items that were prices very fairly, not over priced like you would find in an antique store. The prices for books and media were unbeatable too. The back room and cafe were super cool with old brick and antique furniture. Extra points for the 2 cats that were lounging around. They also have an animal sacristy in the back that’s its own attraction you can check out too. This is definitely a place to check out.

Such a wonderful “hidden” gem- and I say hidden because I had just found out about it yesterday! Brought my 1 year old daughter and we had a blast exploring the grounds, visiting the animals and shopping. Will definitely be back. Thank you to Audrey?/Aubrey? I apologize for not getting her name again before leaving- she was amazing in her knowledge of all the animals in their care.

What a FANTASTIC place! 4 of my absolute favorite things all rolled into one location: a café, an animal rescue, a thrift store, and a (mini) book store!
There is a REALLY great lounge area right off the café, where you can kick back in an old chair and read, enjoy something from the café, or if you’re lucky pet one of the cats who is walking around.
Every single person there clearly loves what they do, whether that’s directly interacting with the animals and answering visitor’s questions, or getting your order together in the café.
I only wish I could pick this whole place up and move it an hour and a half closer to my house! I’d be here ALL the time.
The thrift shop has extremely fair pricing and lots to see, the books were also very, very well priced (naturally I grabbed a bunch), and I love knowing my purchases here are to help support the animals.
I couldn’t recommend Pandemonium Thrift Shop more highly, and literally cannot wait to return.

Good cause but almost no animals. A but pricey for seeing less animals that you would find in a pet shop
