“My wife and I recently moved to Higganum, CT and just now discovered Higganum Hardware. The owners, two brothers, Taylor and Jarrett, opened the store in fall 2021. While young, they are dedicated to customer service and a huge variety of everything from nuts and bolts to Ben Moore Paints, to equipment...a huge variety of quality hardware goods. I asked them, what encouraged them to open the store...the answer, We looked at what Higganum needed and did not have...a Hardware Store. While we believe in the saying SHOP LOCAL, you also want high quality products, good service and location close to where you live and or work. Higganum Hardware fits all three. “I dont even live in Portland, and I come out here to enjoy the PHENOMENAL customer service and care that is displayed by both store associates and the pharmacy is run like a well-oiled machine, with equally Phenomenal people behind the counter there as well. The store is ALWAYS clean, and fully stocked; cant say enough about how wonderful this location is!! Whoever trained this store's employees should take a trip to the middletown location, where the customer service is non existent and the pharmacy is a crap-show. Portland Walgreens is AMAZING!!!! FULL STOP!!!”

“New Cromwell resident. Came to Stop n Shop from Walgreens. Pharmacy transferred all our prescriptions (at least 20) same day. I have a medically complex child and 2 insurance companies. We are always changing meds. This requires many approvals. I have never had one complaint from the staff. They treat us like we are their only customer. Never received service like this before. It is so overwhelming with all the denials but I never have to do the work. They push for us until our meds are approved. Always greeted by 1st name, a Top notch Pharmacy!”

“Confusing at first. Doctor has to write a prescription to HANCOCK Surgical not Hancock pharmacy. Hancock gets a lot of business from assisted livings because of their med management . They put meds in blister pac. I live in assisted living. Why are they going to Hancock. That’s why!They gave me veteran break at Atria Larson place assisted living.”

“The staff at CVS are always really nice and a pleasure! I personally go to 153 S. Broad Street in Meriden the coupons and deals that I get are outstanding. I shop there at least once a day. I’ve never had an issue at the store. Everybody is great managers are super nice.”
“I really appreciate Rite Aid. They have the prescriptions I need and accept Good RX which gives me a huge savings on my very expensive Migraine prescription.
The store is also very clean and the prices are typically lower than other pharmacies like CVS.”
“I've been a customer at several big chain pharmacies hoping to find one with decent customer service with no avail! They were all the same. One day, I decided to switch to Hancock Pharmacy, and the service was surprisingly excellent! The employees are customer focused. They work with you to make sure your medications are filled on time every time. If there's a problem with your refill, they will guide you on how to proceed to solve the problem.
When you call, you get to speak to a pharmacy representative quickly. They call or text, and even both, to inform you that your medication is ready for pick up. You don't have to wait in line only to find out your medication isn't ready. As a matter of fact, there has never been a line, maybe one or two customers, the most. You never have to look at your watch. They address you as soon as you enter. They have the right formula, and they follow it.
The bottom line: you will not be disappointed and may find yourself less stressed.”
“I have been to this Price Chopper location a couple of times now. It is not as grand as something like Whole Foods, but it is convenient for those in Middletown-area.Upon coming in you are greeted on your left by the Sushi section, which is always nice and fresh. In my opinion, the best aspect of this supermarket. Nearby they have grab-and-go options like fried chicken and sandwiches. None of them are the freshest looking though and they have a lot of sodium. The salads here are average.The main section of the supermarket where you can get your traditional supermarket items like cereal, water, fruit, etc. is well-stocked and clean, which is nice.The checkouts usually move fast unless you come in the afternoon on a weekend. Otherwise, check is pretty quick and easy. There is also self-checkout options.The parking lot here is very large with plenty of parking, which is nice!Altogether, Price Chopper is your traditional supermarket, but the prices are good and the location is clean with a good variety of products.”
“Shout out to Ashley and Amanda. Both went over and above with customer service. Placed an online order, supposed to be delivered by DoorDash and DoorDash dropped the ball.... BIG TIME. Maybe DoorDash should hire more employees like Ashley and Amanda.”
“So I recently moved in the area and I've tried out stop & shop first I know I want to ShopRite a couple of times. I'm a couple times that I've gone to ShopRite I absolutely had the best time shopping. I am disabled so I rely on those motorized carts. So I have never had any problems for getting one that works.The staff there is awesome !!”

“This is usually the only Stop and Shop I usually go to in Meriden and so far I really haven't had any issues with the place it's usually pretty clean and everything's really well-stocked most of the time and it's pretty easy to find someone who works there if you need help finding something. So overall a great store to go shopping at for most of your grocery items.”

“I was a long-time and happy customer at Rite-Aid on Main Street till they were bought out by Walgreen's. For a year or so I tried the Walgreen's on east main extension out of loyalty to the Rite-Aid staff they hired back. I found it a notch below on most counts, including opening hours. Reluctantly I decided to try CVS across the street because my insurance allowed 3-month refills there and not at Walgreen's. Reluctant because the reviews were so bad. I've been with them now for two years and I have to say this pharmacy has clearly turned its ship around: superbly well-managed, helpful, courteous, efficient staff. Young, diverse: the real face of America, which I love to see, especially since they are not yet burned out and really try to help customers consistently. Give them a shot: nothing to do with the CVS of 5 years ago.”

“I went to Rite Aid on a somewhat soggy Saturday afternoon, needing a snack after the winery down the road. The parking lot was pretty sparse, there was no wait to check out, and the high ceilings with bright lights was nice. It was very clean, as was the parking lot. The seasonal section was a little small compared to other Rite Aids, but had some fun Halloween items on sale for 50% already.”
