“A true family farm stand! My family and I have been going here for years (sorry for the late review). Thanks for all of your hard work! We appreciate it! Best produce, best corn!!!!”
“Love the prices here, love that the Aldi brand items don’t have harmful additives. AND the section where they have the limited finds is definitely fun to look through.”
“Best CSA ever!!! You aren’t given things you don’t want, you get to choose what you LOVE! Or anything you’d like to try. And they are the nicest people in the world! So grateful i found them a few years ago - I’ll be a customer forever!”
“We absolutely love Killam & Bassette Farmstead in South Glastonbury! We originally purchased a Strawberry Rhubarb Jam, and when we noticed the top had popped, they immediately told us to bring it back and swapped it out for a fresh jar with zero hassle. Their customer service is truly above and beyond.
Of course, while we were there we had to try more the Pumpkin Pie Jam and the Carrot Cake Jam and wow. Every single one is incredible. You can taste the care and craftsmanship in every jar.
Their local artisan gift shop is wonderful too, full of beautiful items and that warm, welcoming atmosphere you only get from a family run farmstead. We only wish we lived closer so we could visit more often.
Thank you for everything. You are amazing and we absolutely love your jam. We cant wait for our next visit! ????”
“Nice folks, charming spot, good prices and and great quality apples and veggies. They are proud of their produce and will give you a sample if you are wavering between apple varieties.”
“A huge piece of property, very well maintained. We had cider doughnuts and apple cider.
The cider is the best I've tried this year. And I've had 9 different ciders from farms that press it only, with one exception b.f. Clyde's.
Worth the trip for their champagne of apples..”
“Save money, Shop Aldi FIRST, and finish up at your second favorite store. I have cost compared meny a time. Always save at Aldi. Steaks melt in your mouth. Don't be afraid of the unknown name brands. Most are better than big names that you're paying for...”
“I just moved to Ellington. Best ice cream I’ve ever had! The girls are so nice. :) I got chocolate with banana and chocolate sprinkles. Highly recommend!!! I will be back.”
“Great little farmstand with friendly staff. My family has been shopping here for ages and I can't think of a single negative experience. Love the baked goods and the wide variety of goods to browse through.”
“Although it doesn't have the wider selection of bigger stores, ALDI is one of the cheapest local grocery stores and offers good quality for the price. I have been doing most of my weekly grocery shopping here through Instacart pickup (and occasional delivery) for the past 5 years. They have been consistently reliable, accurate, and professional with pickup orders, which makes shopping much easier for me as a disabled person. On the rare occasions I've shopped in store, the clerks have been fast and efficient. My only complaint is that the back entrance driveway from Kitts Lane has potholes you'll want to watch out for.”
“Amazing grocery store with unbeatable prices! The selection is fantastic, and I always find new products to try. The staff is super friendly and always willing to help.”
“Always stop to get grinder at Veggie World before our trip to Foxwoods , the grinders are always filled with meat , usually can only eat half the grinder not to much bread just right . The staff there are always friendly . Whenever I go I'm happy , very reasonable the market has plenty of other goodies also . My favorite grinder shop in Connecticut .”
“I’ve been to a few Aldis in the area: willmantic, Vernon, south windsor, new Britain, west Hartford, Middletown, Groton, Hamden, Newington, Lisbon, from what I can remembered. I’ve only been here twice I think, it looks larger visually than some other Aldi stores. The products are pretty wide out there as any other Aldi store. Parking is moderately available and they have self checkout like most Aldis do which save you a lot of time”
“I went there for the spare ribs on sale and they had them. The ribs weren't bad for the price. I had time so I walked around the store being that this was my first time there. I grabbed a few items that had good price to make the trip worth while. There isn't much to chose from, small store in comparison to major grocery stores. Only one check out line was opened, but the cashier was fast and friendly. Don't forget your quarter for the carriage.”
