I have never had a problem there. I always go to the owner and she is great. I know some other stylist rent a chair from her, but they are not employed by her. If you have a problem with the salon just call and let the owner know. Her name is Laurie and she will take great care of you.

Laurie was wonderful and did such a great job on my hair. She was very thorough and cared about my hair and what needed to be done. Wasn't rushed, took the time to take care of me.

I have been a client of the salon for years and have highly recommend it to family and friends. I always am happy when I leave the salon.

I agree with Jenna B. I wish I read her review before I booked an appointment using a Groupon. I have been growing my hair out for years. I asked to just trim up the layers, the main reason for my appointment was to cover grays. The Grays were not covered at all and I asked to TRIM the light layer around my face that turned into choppy new layers all around the crown of my head. I didn't ask for or want that. A lot of length was taking off when my goal I SAID was to GROW IT OUT. I'm frustrated with my hair daily because I cant wear it up layers fall in my face and I cant wear it down because it looks bad. ALL the work to grow my hair and finally like the length was gone. I have to wait at least 1 year to be able to put it in a pony tail with layers looking odd and probably 3 years to get my length back....It was one of the worst haircuts in my life. The stylist didn't listen, and I have to pay the price. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I will never trust Groupon for a hair stylist again.

I bought a Groupon for a mani-pedi in December so that I could have pretty nails for the holidays! I can count on one hand the number of times in my life I've gotten my nails done, so this was a huge treat to myself! When I called Peter Ashley there were no openings that offered enough time for me to get both my manicure and pedicure in one sitting, so I had to break the services down into two separate appointments. That was disappointing since I do not live in the area of the salon, but I did understand that the 2 weeks before Christmas is probably a very busy time of year for them and they are probably swamped with people trying to doll up their nails before seeing the family for Christmas! I was grateful that they found time to accommodate me during that time of the year. The woman who did my nails was very nice and did a great job! (I got a gel manicure, which lasted me well into the new year.) The pedicure that I got a week after my manicure is where things started to go very downhill, hence the one star rating. My appointment was apparently the first of the day, so when I got to the salon there was no one there. No one even showed up until 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment time, and when the woman showed up she had her fancy coffee shop coffee. It showed me that stopping for coffee was more important than being on time for your clients. I didn't have any time constraints for my schedule, so if it would have been better for me to come at a later time it would have been fine, but don't schedule me first thing in the morning if you can't be there on time. Once I got inside everything had to be set up, which was more time for me to be sitting around waiting. When things were ready, the water in the trough for my feet was barely room temperature, bordering on cold!! The woman asked if the temperature was okay and I asked her to warm up the water if possible, which she said she'd do. She added in what felt like more room temperature water. At that point I should have spoken up and explained that the water was not comfortable, but I didn't want to be a diva! (Plus this is the same woman who did my manicure the week before, and she was a doll and super nice!) When all was said and done the pedicure came out nice as well, but this one didn't last very long. I'm an active person always going in and out of sneakers, so that might be more why as opposed to the quality of their pedicures. Here is the reason for the one star: about a month later, I noticed some white streaks on the nails of my big toes. 6 months later, I have what looks like (ew) nail fungus! :( The last place I have gotten my nails done was Peter Ashley and I don't walk around barefoot in places other than my home, so I am guessing they are probably the reason why I all of a sudden have this issue. It's my own fault for going to a nail place that I didn't research at all and not checking up to make sure their instruments are properly cleaned, but if you go to this salon PLEASE do yourself a favor and check on this for the sake of your own toes!

I just moved back to CT and was looking for a local hair salon, as I had not lived in the state for over a year and wanted something closer than the salon I went to before I moved. I saw the groupon for this, and thought, why not give it a shot?---I have never been so disappointed before. I reconsidered writing this review because the stylist was super nice and I think he really did try, but I spent about $80 after tip, and now I'll have to go somewhere else to get it fixed/re-done. I went there for color, cut, blow dry/style- I was there for a total of 5 hours. I actually had to leave and come back because it took so long and he had someone else waiting. His first attempt at my color did not come out right, it wasn't the color I wanted-so he told me to come back and he would get the color right. It took a total of 3 processes to get it close, but still not the color I wanted. When cutting my hair, he just cut it all at once (usually they cut in sections)- I just wanted it trimmed to get all the dead/split ends out. I STILL have split ends. He just did a pass through, but didn't cut all my hair. When he was finally done after 5 hours of trying to get my color right, he didn't blow out my hair properly. I have pretty thick, wavy hair, and all he did was blow dry it. No brush and no product. I ended up leaving the salon with damp frizzed out hair. When I left I immediately put my hair up, because it looked so bad. When you go to a salon, you're supposed to leave feeling happy and beautiful. You're hair is supposed to feel silky and shiny and smell wonderful. I got none of that. I left frustrated and disappointed, and had to go home to re-style before going anywhere else. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT go here. It's a waste of time and money, although the stylist was very nice..so at least there was that.
