Quite long queue and waiting time to be serviced, but the car I have rent was really new one - far better than expected, clean and not damaged anywhere before. Please note to have credit card with you, as debit card will not work for security deposit, even if paid in advance with your debit card.

Being a hertz gold member doesn’t mean a thing here. Aside long wait times, I stopped by early a day before to change my reservation. Only to find out it was never changed, and didn’t get the vehicle I needed. Go elsewhere

This is the worst rental car location I've ever been to. I reserved a car online Sunday morning for pick up in the afternoon. When I arrived the first thing I noticed was how dirty the establishment was. Dust a mile high on what little counter space there was and counter tops were in disrepair. As other reviewers noted they are under staffed with apparently only one associate working each day. The car they provided seemed like it was someone's personal car that they added to their inventory, complete with blacked out tinted windows (including the windshield) which I thought was illegal. The car reaked of cigarette smoke and was unbearable. Luckily my insurance company suggested I use enterprise as it was affiliated with them and the collision place I would bring my car to. I happily returned the car the next day and the one good thing was they easily canceled my original week rental and only charged me for the day. Unfortunately for me I left my ezpass in the car. I immediately realized it, called them and was told to come in. When I got there the associate said the car had already gone out. This further convinced me that this might be someone's personal vehicles as when I called they were closing in 5 minutes and officially closed according to their posted hours. The associate called the person who had the vehicle and they said they had it and would return it to Hertz tje next morning. Next morning, new associate who knew nothing of what happened previously. No communication through shifts. Long story, not so long, he said he reached out but the other associate had nothing, so he had nothing and told me he'd be in tomorrow so check then. While it was my fault for leaving a personal item in the rental, the communication, lack of good customer service, state of the facility and it's vehicles will keep me far from this and maybe every Hertz in the future. Definitely no recommendations for new business from me.

New, clean car. Smooth easy driving with features - automatic everything, sunroof, backup cam, other vehicle alert.
Would like GPS included for free, but I'm using Google maps instead.

I needed a rental due to my personal vehicle needing to be repaired. The staff was friendly but the store owner Steve went above and beyond to accommodate me. I definitely recommend and will be back.

I'm here on a Saturday. There's one gentleman working. There are a total of 10 people in the waiting room. The cashier has been working with the current customer for the last *20 MINUTES* with no end in sight. Wildly inefficient. Poor staffing. Hertz was doing better for a while; it's too bad. Will not return

I'll start with the pros: I have found the staff to be friendly when interacting with them at the location or over the phone. They are respectful and knowledgeable. The location is also easy enough to get to and has easy highway access for Merritt Parkway/I-95.
Now the cons: they need to hire more employees. The day I went to pickup my car, it was one guy working. He was friendly, but the lobby filled up with at least 7 people and the wait to pick up the car was over a half hour. The location also needs a little TLC. The lobby could be larger and have more seating and the overall building could use a size increase and can be cleaned up. I also have tried to call several times and the line rings forever before someone can pick up. I am not faulting the people since I do believe they are understaffed, but 12 minutes of the line ringing is insane. I can understand being on hold for that time, but it was 12 minutes of the line trilling and that gets old fast. At the very least, maybe an automated messaging system that says hold times, wait times, or at least someone to answer the phone and put me on hold.
I would book with Hertz again, but maybe not at this location.
AGAIN - this is of NO fault to the staff members themselves, just the lack of staff able to help at this location. I would like to give more stars as I think Hertz is one of my favorite rental car companies, but this experience was less than ideal.

I picked up my car from Fairfield CT post road location and they were excellent! Shelton didn’t have any cars when it was time for pickup and Fairfield went above and beyond to get me one on time without a worry! They were happy to jump in and help! Thanks to Steve and his staff for saving my weekend plans!

I have been trying to be a loyal customer, but Hertz has made it difficult. Yesterday, I went to pick up a car on Sunday and the location was closed. The location opened one hour later due to the service personnel showing up late. Just unacceptable.
