Listen. They rearranged everything. Going to be honest, it truly threw me off. The produce section is much more open and has a nice flow. If you are looking for hot sauce, it is near the produce (honestly it doesn't make sense to me). The bread is changed to a new location and the old bread aisle is now refrigerators with butter and cheese. It will definitely get some getting used to but maybe a map of the new items and where they are would be helpful. I will always love stop and shop so I just need to adjust the way I organize my list, but be prepared for their new look.

Last night I went to stop and shop at 8:15 p.m. and I got a carriage did shopping talk to other customers talked to employees and I was ready to check out and I remembered that I forgot my bananas so I left my car near the self checkout and the self checkout lady said she would watch my carriage. I left my wallet in the carriage underneath items cuz I was coming right back it was dumb of me to do that but that's not the problem nobody stole it cuz the lady was watching it now I lost 40 pounds ever since I got the coverage shot I used to be 250 lb and the clothes I have don't fit me any more and we're on a budget I have a three and a half year old daughter and we don't have money for me to buy new clothes and I'm slowly gaining weight and I was sick for 2 weeks with diarrhea so I lost a lot of weight I went and got the bananas and I have WIC so I decided to grab $25 in fruit and it was hard for me to carry all of it back and I dropped three cookies when the cookie box fell and I dropped two apples and when I bent over to pick it up my rear end crack where the good Lord split me was exposed and I pulled my pants up right away next thing I know a woman gets right in front of my face puts an evil look on her face and says you need to leave my f****** store right now I go excuse me who the hell are you do you even work here she goes yes I go what's your name and she blocked her name I go I have groceries in my hand and I have groceries in my carriage and I have a wallet over there and her and two other people that work there men blocked me from going to get my wallet and they said they would call the cops which I wasn't worried about but I knew if I tried to push my way through them I can get arrested for assault even if I don't even put my hands on them and try to push my way through them with my shoulders I know better and it's three of them against me their word and that's all it takes so I left and I asked her to please go get my wallet I waited 10 minutes and I realized that I had the cookies that fell on the floor in my pocket so I went back in the store after 10 minutes and she came running up to me and said I told you to get the f*** out of my store I said well where's my wallet she goes I didn't go over there and look for a wallet I go well it's there could I go get it I know exact and I told her where it is and she goes no why you back in the store I go because I don't want you to have me arrested for stealing cookies I forgot that I put them in my pocket after I drop them on the floor which I told her I would pay for everything that I dropped and she didn't even care about me dropping food she cared that my butt crack showed she was very very and I do not say this about anyone she was very very evil I am 43 years old and I have a three and a half year old and I lost my son back in 2017 I've been through a lot in my life and to have this lady treat me like this was just completely telling me how terrible this world could be not just the world the people living in it she had no compassion I tried to tell her that I lost weight and that's why my pants are falling down I had a string I tried to keep them up I will buy new clothes when tax return comes but every dime we make goes to a $1,700 a month rent in Bridgeport and it's only a two bedroom and I make sure my kid my daughter has clothes brand new clothes on her back instead of me and my wife I let them look good because woman need to feel good about themself so do men but I can handle wearing old clothes that are a little too big I apologize to her my wife even drove there and tried to get my wallet back in the woman kept walking away from her and the woman I mean is the manager she wouldn't give my wife the time of day and my wife kept on telling her that all my wife's credit cards were in my wallet bank card with $8,000 on it we put a hold on it and there was $300 in cash in my wallet my license my social security card my medical health card my pictures of my late

SAD: Good location, great store seltzer, decent prices BUT 1) You have to read the sale notices super carefully, especially the dates which are in smaller print. A good percentage of the time the sale has not started yet or already finished & you bought 3 units just to pay full price. It is especially tricky since many of the discounts don't kick in until the total is generated. If you assume you are going to get that discount in the total, you will be cheated on a regular basis. 2) You have to check the openable containers to make sure they are not shorting you. 3) The self-scanning machines suck. They don't move quickly enough & then the machine stops, you have to wait for an employee to come and now you both have to watch a video. Right now they have a special on 4 12packs of soda. Guess what, if you put that many sodas on the scale, it stops because it is overweight. I don't usually buy that much soda, so I looked at the employee who was supposed to be watching the machines and they did nothing. At least they did not make it worse. 4) There are some great employees but many put you last. I decided to skip the machine scanners last week & a bagger waived me into a line just as the cashier left - not to help another customer, there was no other customer. After a while the bagger apologized & I repacked the cart and went to a scanner. Fortunately I did not run into any issues there. When I walked past that line on my way out, the cashier was still off on her errand. Today I was pushing my cart and noticed an employee stocker was "trapped" by the configuration on the tables. I moved back and around a corner so the employee stocker could get by. Instead of thanking me she made some hand gesture. It turns out that when I backed up, I was where she wanted to be and she expected me to keep moving. I was a very loyal S&S customer, but now I am "playing the field" and checking out the 3 non-S&S stores in Town.

Every time I go to this store - it feels really sad. Weird. Low energy, the EE's give off a vibe that they would rather be anywhere else on the planet. Really sad. (and what is the deal with that psycho robot? freakeeee!)

USED to be nice, now every employee there is a mumbling grumbling slow moving reluctant worker...I had a incident there, tripped over a dangerous obstacle, got hurt, out of work, they denied responsibility and the danger still exists!! shelves are half empty, stock close to out of date, managers wont look me in the eye any more because they know...

This is my local branch of Stop and Shop: I am here at least weekly if not on a daily basis. I find the customer service, the energy levels, and the overall attitude of all the employees as being top of the line. From produce to deli, from cashiers to stockers every one here has always greeted me and treated me with great kindness. They all know their product placement and never hesitate to offer assistance when seeing myself or someone else looking around perplexed. The deli department (one of my favorites) is filled with the nicest people who take great pride and providing amazing customer specific service. They are so good they even know some orders of customers by heart as soon as they walk up. The managers there are always walking around greeting customers and making sure all that can be done is being done to make everyone experience their the best. Thank you all for doing such an AMAZING job!

It is with pleasure I'd like to express my appreciation of the excellent assistance rendered to me by Kevin B. in the Prepared Food department. As your loyal customer I found him to be highly professional, attentive and very helpful. In addition to his enthusiasm and efficiency, his gracious disposition above all contributed greatly to providing me with superior customer experience. Stop&shop is fortunate to have an employee of Kevin's caliber.

This store is disgusting. Floors are always dirty and sticky. They allow people to bring in dogs that clearly aren't service animals! They sometimes put them in the carriage where customers put there food!!! They allow the workers to sit practically right near the entrance doors especially at night smoking cigarettes using profanity. I've been a customer here for a long time and keep hoping it will change but it's only gotten worse! I'll take my business to Big Y , it's a little farther but well worth the drive.

While I enjoy the Stop & Shop in Westport, this location is more convenient. Unfortunately, their brand/inventory algorithms are less than perfect so they don't stock some items I like which the other store has. It's probably the supermarket equivalent of 'redlining,' but I don't really wanna step in that swamp. My main complaint is their coupon system. The machines spit out coupons for products I don't use and the final insult was a $5 coupon the next time I order $60 of groceries or more. Fine print? Good for one week. Why would a senior who lives alone need to spend another $60 in the next seven days? Like CVS's dreadful "rewards" system, this is one of those non-incentive incentive programs. Feh.

When I noticed there was many customers without masks shopping, I asked an associate if masks were mandatory to shop. She said yes. I then pointed out the person right next to me shopping without one. The store worker then said she couldn't do anything about it and that people need to read the sign. If there is no enforcement of masks in the store, why was I told it is mandatory? Shameful to see this location, especially in Fairfield not following guidelines and having enforcement of masks. Shame on this business.

My wife and I are seniors, and shopping for groceries in the store is now too taxing. Therefore, we use Peapod, and have been quite satisfied.

This store might be clean, but they are over priced and they selll old items...I have lost lots of money over the years because I had to throwout items. Vegatables are terrible . I now stop at trader Joes and whole foods. We have to be very safe with the food we purchase. Please look at all dates....

This is a very good Stop & Shop. The store is older, but is kept clean and is well lit. It's well stocked and carries a huge selection of products. The floral department is excellent as always! They've got a huge variety of beautiful flowers and plants. They also have tons of very nice, pretty seasonal decorations. The bakery is also excellent here! They've got a huge selection of baked good. All of the bakery items looked fresh and delicious. The cakes and cupcakes were well decorated and looked very tasty. We bought french bread here once and it was fresh and delicious. The produce is very good at this location, better than most Stop & Shop. Berries, cabbage, lettuce, peppers, and other fruits and vegetables all looked fresh and well stocked. The deli is good and clean with a friendly staff. The prepared sandwiches all looked fresh and tasty. The prepared chicken was all hot and fresh. This location has a hot wing bar and all the wings there looked hot, fresh, and delicious. They have a wide variety of cheeses and deli meats and they were all well stocked. The fish looked fresh with a large selection. The meats looked fresh and were well stocked. The organic section is quite large and is very clean and well stocked with a wide variety of organic items. The staff at this location are all friendly, attentive, and helpful. I have seen the store manager and assistant manager walking around at times making sure everything is running smoothly, which is always a good thing to see. I have found some expired items on the shelves, so make sure you check the dates. Also, the store really could use a renovation and is showing its age. The floors are a bit cracked in a few sections, a few of the freezers leak, and the entrance carpets are very worn, and are bit messy, and scuffed up. Hopefully corporate will renovate the store soon. Despite its age, the staff and management do a good job keeping the store clean and well organized. Overall, this is a good Stop & Shop, one of the better locations. It's pretty clean, has fresh food, friendly staff, and is in a convenient location near downtown Fairfield. The Stop & Shop on Villa Ave is larger and has a bit more selection, but this one seems to be better managed. 4 stars for the Kings Hwy Fairfield Stop & Shop.
