We had an appointment scheduled at a separate post office for passports, but were turned away and referred to the Southport location. The other office said that the Southport location took walk-ins. When we arrived at the Southport post office, we were informed that they took walk-ins only in the afternoon (and it was still morning), but Lynn took pity on us and took us in anyway. She expertly and efficiently handled our passport applications (2 adults and 2 kids) without batting and eye. Thank you, Lynn!! You’re a life saver!!

I arrived 20 minutes before closing and the lights were off and the door was locked. There was someone in the back room that would not answer the door… if you close at 12 then actually close at 12, not 11:30

Got passports for the kids here. Lin (spelling likely incorrect) was great. Unexpectedly efficient.

Terrible I would have chosen to live in another town if I knew how bad everything having to do with the Southport post office was. The worst i have ever delt with.

Went here for the first time and will not return. Extremely discriminatory and racist remarks from the manager. I was appalled to hear those comments and reported the manager to the appropriate governmental agencies. I hope to see them take action soon over this inappropriate behavior at this branch.

I agree with one of the other posters here regarding the tape incident as it refers to the same person I had an issue with-- the manager-- who said extremely discriminatory and racist remarks here. I reported her and am awaiting to hear back that there have been disciplinary actions taken. This branch is the worst that I have been to and I told everyone to never visit here. They need new staff to give this place a chance to thrive in the Southport community.

I just walked in to the USPS to Priority Mail a small package and forgot the tape to affix the label. I ship on a weekly basis and have only not had tape once before. The kind woman behind the desk offered me some tape to put it on. A rude Asian lady bound over and ripped it away and said "no, you want tape? Use scotch". There is no way this would be an approved method by the federal post office to mail ANYTHING. Both of the other women behind the desks had apologetic looks on their faces but you could tell this was a superior. Hmmm, not a traditional local business. How do you notify anyone about this unacceptable behavior? Love our tax dollars at work.

Come on people, this place isn't that bad. I go a handful of times a month and it's fine. Good location and generally the people are happy here.

The woman who works here sits smug with the biggest attitude in the world, extremely unhelpful. Go somewhere else. Even if it’s 10 minutes longer to get there

The people that worked there were so incredibly rude it was actually disgusting. I’m personally not from around here so I didn’t know much, but once i walked into a different room my boyfriend told me the employee Faith was talking about me behind my back. She then proceeded to be nasty when I was trying to ask a question all because i was a few minutes late.

I have never gone out of my way to write a bad review but- I have never experienced an employee so rude and also clearly mentally unstable. The lady named Maria who works there is awful. It actually blows my mind that anyone would think it was a good idea to have her in a public setting. Stay away! I will add that all the other people who work there are very nice and helpful. It’s just her who is a nightmare but the problem is- she is usually always there

I have to say that I agree with all the negative reviews on this post office location. I used to have pretty good experiences here but the older woman helping today was just miserable. I couldn't hear her through her mask and she got annoyed when she had to repeat herself but I didn't hear that she was asking me a question of how I wanted my package shipped. I apologized that I couldn't hear her and then asked for stamps but she ignored me and went back to her script and then asked if I needed anything.... Yes some stamps, please! I don't usually buy stamps - I'm a millennial, I pay almost all my bills online but needed some to have on hand. I go here because it's convenient but the downtown Fairfield location is much friendlier!

The service is so bad here. Its almost like they want their branch to be closed.
