From the south, our Whole Foods is not as good, but up here in Connecticut. They really know how to do a grocery store full of fresh food foods foods being made fresh pizzas being made fresh produces fresh. They have everything you need and more and it's organized. This is Whole Foods grocery stores used to be, and I'm glad Connecticut has kept up the reputation thank you.

I confess, I am a food snob. I am privileged to be able to do most of my food shopping at Willimantic Food Co-op in Willi, at Fiddleheads Food Co-op in New London, and at FoodWorks in Old Saybrook. I have been a grateful member of Willi since 1996. Before around 2012 when Fiddleheads began carrying exclusively OG produce, I did on rare occasions shop at the Glastonbury HardlyWholeFoods. Yesterday, after my 11-year-absence, I returned to the Glastonbury store as I was in the neighborhood. During that interim, WF was bought out by Amazon, and accordingly the food quality has very visibly been dumbed down. Agreed, a supermarket shopping experience dims to that of small marketplaces, but when I previously had shopped here I still felt appreciation for its carrying foods with some semblance of wholesomeness and naturalness about them. No longer. Conventional produce outnumbers those organically grown. Totally white-flour bakery products far exceed those with at least some small percentage of whole grains. Sugar- and salt-laden nonfoods are the norm, not the anomaly. And locavores beware, because WF defines "local" sources as within 400 miles. While some advertised items at WF cost less than elsewhere, and lesser still for members of Amazon Prime, that just provides me yet another incentive for never having enrolled in Prime. The food shopping experience is one of my life's pleasures, but my visit to WF left me feeling disappointed and exhausted. Among other supermarkets in my corner of Connecticut, Big Y stands out for the quality of its OG produce and for its wide selection of "health foods." I am glad to have skipped WF all these years and instead to have stayed closer to home. Hence, in regards to reasons for shopping at WF, I am left only with one big question, one Big Why.

Purchased blueberry muffins in the bakery section. Not as advertised. No blueberries in the ingredients list or muffins. Fake blueberries and fake taste altho the package said " blueberry". We expect higher quality merchandise in whole foods and not walmart quality.

Leaving stars for service- everyone has always been the most helpful at all times! Upset at recent exploitation of demand margins- I have not been shopping here as much lately because of incredulous prices on items in demand that simply don't match prices elsewhere, or even similarly branded items in store that are not as demanded. Also noticed that 365 brand has similar ingredients to major corporations that could contribute to worsening of 3 of my conditions, so I had to discontinue those too. Hoping management sees this and looks at selections to help! Thank you

This used to be one of our favorite Whole Foods but not sure what is going on here but the attitude of the workers has changed significantly Just calling to order a pizza from prepared foods on their supposedly nationwide Prime Friday Pizza Deal to pick up when we are there to shop for food was an exercise in dealing with major attitude on a simple task that they should offer in the Whole Foods app (like they do a many other stores nationwide)I asked the guy - how many slices and instead of answering - he tells me with the attitude of that's a stupid question - that they only have one size - like he was doing us a favor in taking the orderGet the attitude out of the store and No problem for us - we just changed our plans and are now going to Trader Joe's down the street.

Valentine's Day...yikes. I was putting together a dinner for my neighbor and myself and needed a nice dessert. Went to Whole Foods in Glastonbury, one of my favorite stops on the side of the river, and found two decorated cupcakes to crown dishes of ice cream. They had the best selection and the nicest staff so I lucked out. Now I am trying to wait to eat one [or both] of them.

I prefer to let the customer to decide if they want to buy Maine lobsters - I don't want a store dictating my choice. I won't be buying from this chain again.

I thought I would try Whole Foods delivery on Amazon since I've had surgery and can't go to the grocery store. What a rip off!!!! Not only do you have to pay to join prime, they have added a $9.95 delivery fee. On top of that, they have very few choices obviously not offering all their products for delivery. If you happen to find what you want through their terrible dysfunctional search engine, the product will be "unavailable" before you check out. But why should I be surprised, they are connected with Amazon after all!

Good place to shop for Prime Members!Love Amazon? Then you gotta love Whole Foods. Conveniently located in West Hartford and Glastonbury this friendly grocer and bakery offers fresh produce, bakery, premade meals and health supplements. Honorable mentions:- I haven't seen prettier fruits and vegetables - house baked pizzas are tasty, especially garlic & Pesto- want a little pastry with your morning coffee? Frozen turnovers, croissants and chocolate filled pains are wonderful to bake a home - coffee selection, meat variety and... all the cosmetics and health supplements you can think of Friendly staff and prices hard to beat.

Overpriced, low quality prepared meals We have purchased meals twice from this location. The pizza was hard and old. The teriyaki rice bowls were flavorless and without vegetables. The donuts were slimy. The salmon was fishy. At $9-$14, sandwiches and meals are as pricy as restaurants, less fresh and not worth the money. I only give two stars, because the rest of the store seems OK, but overpriced.

Overall. Love the store and the staff in the butcher department, BUT the team in the deli section could use some upgrading. It's frustrating to here a deli employee tell the customer that they "cant" slice the deli meat thin. I worked in a deli when I was younger and YES YOU CAN, stop finding excuses. Second the deli takes the initiative to preslice and package certain deli items that I think works well, BUT again no one wants thick sliced toast beef or overly thick sliced cheeses. Your in a customer service industry take that into consideration Everytime your prepping the deli meats.Use the butcher department team as an example. They ALWAYS ask the customer what they want and how they want it. There has NEVER been an excuse in prepping the product. The deli team needs a quick meeting on customer service. Sorry to say, but for the prices WE (the customer) are paying there needs to be deli accountability.Looking forward to the changings.

Jeni's is one of the popular and expensive types of ice creams. I went to pick up a couple of pints. Brambleberry crisp and brown butter almond brittle, both tasted nice. While in that area, I also went for a Sicilian Pistachio from Van Leeuwen. It was less in flavor though. I used to go to Van Leeuwen once in a while in NYC. Its been a while since I visited that place. Pistachio cookies were ok. There was a short line to get in. Line moves quickly though.
