Tax favors for specific town admin, by way of lower assessments per a source with inside person = corruption. Poor maintainance & dangerous drainage situation (i will happily update as to outcome) currently being discussed with course/Greens Keeper & town Engineer. Unlike other Central CT towns such as New Britain, Stanley Quarter golf course, concern for property owners is brushed off who are legally entitled to be heard & responded to when: water pours into their land & stone walls are being damaged, paid landscaping displaced! And constant tournaments w/mediocre golfers pop holes yrly into your homes siding, screens, at worst expensive glass windows. 2 wks ago, my eye was nearly put out when a golf ball bulleted into my glass bird feeder & blew it apart into my sea grasses. As the metal bottom dropped to the ground, i was scared thinking that couldve seriously hurt my head! There was a call made prior on request for a net at end of our land line marked by ol tall Cherry tree. We even asked for minimal reimbursement to have shared finance of the cost of a box of vinyl siding. Nope nope nope. Apparently, one must have an eye put out, a fractured skull or a river pour down (literally) from very poor drainage design between sand pit near hole #14 and oppo mound & sand pit. The Golf course is overseen by Parks & Rec Dept in Groton, Mr. Berry. The Greens Mgr/Keeper doesnt return calls, is surly & doesnt seem to like residents he's paid to take calls from if a serious issue thus you must call the supervisor, Director of P&R. This course sees enough fund-raising activities, tournament for maintenance of course should be considered. Dont get me wrong, im not here to just gripe. Theres the good too. A lovely view, some great course grass cutting staff, a wonderful restaurant, Par 4 on Plant St. Thats owned by town but rented to restaurant owner whos great.

I have always found the Tax Collector's office folks to always be friendly and helpful.

If it was 1985 I would consider the ways of the tax department current. 10 days to clear a regular check, 3 days for a debit card and a pain in the butt for a certified check.

We received a confusing property tax bill a couple of weeks ago. I called into your office and Mrs. Rutchick was the representative who answered my call. What a blessing that it was her. She assisted us through a complex tax issue and never once did she loose patience or kindness. She was quick returning phone calls/emails. On a number of occasions she called just for follow up to insure that we received all of the assistance necessary. A follow up phone call from the town assessors office just to make sure our needs were met. Who has heard of such a thing? Mrs. Ruthick deserves to be recognized for her over abundance of customer service! OUTSTANDING MA'AM

Girl in the "customer service " window does not greet you and is essentially glaring at you when you walk in. Is working there that awful?Takes 10 days for a check to clear???Have to use computer to use debit card and the keyboard is nasty.Still when using debit card it takes 3 days to clear.Would have given 0 stars had that option been available.
