We liked this place. Funky little harborside hotel, friendly and helpful staff. The place, furniture and decor are nothing fancy and a little worn but we like that kind of place. Convenient to two restaurants, 30 minute walk to convenience stores. 15 minute walk to catch bus to New London. Big parking lot if you are driving (we came on Amtrak and taxied to the hotel).

Dirty dirty dirty! The floor didn't look like it had been mopped in weeks, blankets had cigarettes burns on them, and the showerhead was held together by duck tape. No soap In the bathroom and are towels hung from nubs on the wall that was a towel bar at some point. And the roo .smelled like cigarettes It was so gross. I didn't bring anything in my room and left immediately. Staff was nice and refunded me my stay.

Husband and I stayed here to visit Mystic and Stonington. Thames Inn was much cheaper than other options and it was a great experience for the price. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and our room was spacious, newly renovated, and very clean. Don’t be fooled by its offbeat location, you’ll be comfortable for the price!

I have no idea how others are giving this place a positive review. The room we were given was filthy. The room reeked of recent smoke. Everything was falling apart. The bed had two limp mismatched pillows and a threadbare mattress. The bathroom was uncleaned. The furnishings are cheap home furninshings, not hotel style. The door key we were given did not work in our door. We spent about 30 seconds in the room before cutting our losses and going to a real hotel. Avoid this place!

In traveling, came across this Inn on the web. Very pleased with the room availability, and room is absolutely fantastic, and pet friendly. Very clean, nice, and great kitchenette with full size appliances, very clean bathroom, with full towels. Will definitely stay here again if traveling through Groton. Thank you Thames Inn.
Rooms: See my review
Noteworthy details: Just very clean, all necessary appliances, nice size flat screen TV.

Stayed here for a week. Had a work thing. Very close to my work site. The cost was $650 for the week (so it's not bad).
Wifi barely worked, the parking lot needs attention, and remodeling is needed.
I really didn't know who was running the place because the owner was on medical leave (as I was told). But the people I did interact with were so kind and polite. Checking in and out was easy and contacting office employees were very easy to get a hold off. The scenery from the parking lot was amazing.

Excellent place with excellent staff! Me and my wife went to the casino for a Mudvayne show and the location and distance from this beautiful hotel was perfect. A bunch of things to do in the local area, especially in this season and I’m assuming off-season as well. if you can get a reservation before they run out for the season bring the family. 10 out of 10

Always a pleasure staying in this quant waterfront hotel. Clean room and friendly management. Close to restaurants, shops and 95.Rates are very affordable for this area where many hotels are ridiculously priced.

Desk keeper was friendly, spent 3 nights no new towels, the dock was closed looks like it's about to collapse. Thought it was a regular hotel but got the impression that people are living here long term. Great location close to everything if you don't mind an uncomfortable bed at a great price.

I LOVED staying here, I could live here. The rooms are updated and cute, sea themed which matches its location. It has just about everything you need to feel right at home, including a full kitchen and what it doesn't have the inn keeper is happy to oblige. The rooms are pretty sound proof. There is washer and dryers on site at a fair price. Plenty of parking. There is a garden and a couple of picnic areas as well as a few types of grills. I especially loved the view being right out on the water. The beds and linens were great! Right next to everything in New London County including a nice piece of history at Fort Griswold just up the hill.
