Dr. Alter and his staff are top tier and wonderful. Great expertise, decent fees and a genuine love for animals keep me coming back year after year. They sincerely adore and care about my cats; it's steadily apparent. Dr. Alter also saved - and preserved - the life of one of my cats whom he diagnosed with cardiomyopathy. After the necessary tests and realizing that surgery was impossible, he prescribed potent medication and baby aspirin, which kept her viable and comfortable for three and a half more years than she would've had previously without a proper diagnosis. I will ALWAYS be grateful to Dr. Alter and his staff for their knowledge and kindness.

I loved the care that dr Atler provided to my very nervous and distraught dog. He explained everything about his care in detail. I am very glad that I switched my dog's care to him.

Very caring and helpful staff, gentle and patient with my shy dog. Great technical skills and wonderful empathy. The doctor is very knowledgeable, well educated and very helpful to us. Does not cause us to undergo unnecessary extra tests. I love bringing my dog here.

I don't know what we would do without these kind people. They truly care for our whole zoo of animals. They are reasonable, easy to work with, not aggressive with expensive/unnecessary treatments, and are very easy to get appointments/ask for advice.I highly highly recommend this little local animal hospital. Pet's Friend rocks!

So I have known Dr. Alter for most of my life. My family has been going to him since our first dog when I was a kid. Now I have my own dog with my wife and we drive over 30 minutes for our vet appointments. In over 20 years of coming here; Dr. Alter has always been upfront with information, he does what he believes is best for the pet, he works with the owners doing what he can to make them feel comfortable, and I have watched him (along with his staff) do everything they can to save a dog's life. Our dog loves the staff here and they love her. This is a truly wonderful place to bring your pet and they will always do their best.
