I’m not a big fan of writing negative reviews because as a business owner myself, I typically give people the benefit of the doubt. But my experience here was genuinely that awful and I feel the need to warn others not to spend a dime here. I felt very judged and stereotyped by staff as a young female entrepreneur.
I recently started investing in real estate and was excited to go to Waterware to pick out and design some custom bathroom work. I live locally and would rather give my money to local businesses than big box stores.
First, we were not greeted when we entered or asked if we needed help until about 10 minutes into being there despite there being only one other customer in the store. I told the associate I’m interested in a particular vanity for a new real estate project and asked about hardware color options. Immediately she said “yes that bathroom vanity will be very cost effective for you.” I brushed it off at first.
When I asked about a sage color, she told me “well, then you’re getting into custom work and that will be very expensive and not cost effective at all.” At that point, I asked her why she assumed I needed something cost effective. And she said “well because you said you’re flipping a property.” I literally never said that, she assumed and got very defensive when I inquired about why she kept saying the words “cost effective” to me. I know I’m young but I was prepared to spend a significant amount of money on high end finishes. I told her this and said I’d be taking my business elsewhere.
It literally felt like a scene right out of “Pretty Woman.” She was cold, snobby, judgmental and just plain rude. Shop elsewhere.

My shopping and purchasing experience at Waterware Showroom of Guilford was excellent. We renovated two bathrooms and everything we purchased was beautiful and excellent quality. Patty MacNeil helped me with everything! Patty was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, patient and attentive to every need. Highly recommend.
