I live three minutes from this store, and I hate that I need so many things from there. We moved to this area 18 months ago, so naturally, we need a lot of items from a home improvement store. Customer service is nowhere to be found in this store, so yet again I drove all the way to the North Haven store to get a sample of paint. It’s frustrating, totally unnecessary, and 100% fixable. Teach people how to talk to customers, prioritize tasks, and even say hello. I could not believe when I walked into the other store today how many people greeted me. Go figure. Also, I cannot figure out why the Hamden store has the dirtiest parking lot in our town. Please be better.

I came in to grab a Gerber utility knife and after paying at the self-checkout I asked an employee to help remove the security tag. She said she couldn't do it and asked another employee to help. That person initially said they usually don't remove those tags and I would have to simply walk out of the store and let the alarm ring. I explained that I had bought it to give as a gift and I could not give it with the security tag attached. She then tried for a couple of minutes to remove the tag without success. I ended up returning the item I had just bought and will never return to this store again.

They have all the things you need. I recommend using the mobile application to help me locate the item. The staff is very helpful, and are happy to assist if you need help. The only negative is that the registers are usually backed up during or near peak times.

Ordered something online and had it shipped to the store for pickup (delivery was extra). Item was scheduled to arrive on Wednesday. Went Thursday to pick it up, but it was “in the back” still and no one apparently had the ability or cared to take a look. Was told to come back tomorrow. Went back Friday, they confirmed that it was at the store. It had been scanned into the system, but no one was around to get it. Customer service desk people called “the back” and no one answered. They then told me to call the store in the morning and ask them to pull the item.I did so on Saturday at 7:30am. Still had not received any follow up by 1pm, so I went to the store. The people at the customer service desk did almost nothing to check. Then told me “Bill is on vacation and there is no one in the back until Monday” and that I should just try again Monday.Total joke of a store.

a lot of helping staff, good range of products - some things you can find half price at Amazon though, so it’s worth to compare prices in store.

Nowadays guess it's expected but somehow has to get resolved. Lack of or short staffed is unacceptable. Waited 45 minutes because they didn't have a forklift operator and at the end not even someone to give me a hand with a pallet of material. I literally had to load it by hand.

Very helpful and patient staff. I needed some help comparing some products and Jayvonn went out of his way to help and find the best possible option for me. Then when the system didn’t acknowledge the deal he’d found me and I returned to the store to address the issue, he accompanied me to customer service and helped rectify the error. Very dedicated and worthy of acknowledgment by management. Thank you.
