Lina's Place is a hidden gem in Hamden - and the state of CT - for finding delicious Slavic/Eastern European foods. The staff are exceptional, supportive, and just another reason why my family and I keep coming back!

Lina's place is wonderful. The selection of products is amazing - they sell cold cuts, canned goods, chocolates, dairy products and so much more. Everything is always fresh and high quality. Customer service is exceptional. I brought a few non-Russian friends there and they were highly impressed. Prepared foods are delicious. We visited a lot of Russian stores, driving as far as Hartford, and then discovered Lina's place and never went anywhere else again. Definitely 5-star. I could not recommend it more highly.

Fantastic store that carries Eastern European authentic food and is my go to place for grocery shopping , including buckwheat, farmer cheese and rye bread. The selection is wide, the food is delicious, while customer service is very friendly. When the neighborhood stores were struck by food shortages and waiting lines during the pandemic, Lina's place was the fail proof option - always well stocked with fresh goodies and uninterrupted supply. Thank you for helping to bring our homeland into our homes.

First time shopper. No prices on any of the are on right side of refrigerated meat case where cash register is. Purchased 1/2 pound of one of the meats, sliced. Weighted it when I returned home, a few minutes later. 5 ounces!! I thought 1/2 pound is 8 ounces Be prepared to not know what products are because the information is in Cyrillic. It would be helpful to those who cannot read Russian to know what is in the package if it isn't clear by the packaging image and what the price is.If anyone wants to play detective then one person who can read and speak Russian and makes it known in some way to the owner/clerk should make several purchases. And perhaps on the same day or the day after another person who buys exactly the same thing and makes it clear they are not sure what they are purchasing because they can't read the label end up paying the same amount at checkout. If I were Russian I know I would be delighted to have this little shop filled with lovely things that I was used to growing up or that I was purchasing for my parents or grandparents.Store is on Sanford St. is between Shepard Avenue and Dixwell Avenue. and is also called HM or Hamden Market (not certain why).
