GIVE LILLIAN A RAISE! She is the reason I keep coming back to Monro on Skiff street. I drive my car a lot for work and I trust her emphatically. I know she will make sure everything is done the right way and will give the best customer service. She knows what she's doing, is extremely knowledgeable and is truly a joy. I thank the team at Monroe Hamden, CT for their professional support with the replacement of the front wheel bearings, rotors and pads on the GMC Sierra. While traveling Boston to Philadelphia wheel bearing failed. Called Monroe Hamden CT 5 PM Friday evening, got the vehicle into the shop for evaluation Friday evening and it was repaired and I was back on the road early afternoon the next day.

Bad, bad experience. I came here for a new tire and they didn’t have the tire, told me they’d call ASAP next morning when tire was ready, and they never did. I called three times trying to get a response, but no answer and nowhere to leave a voicemail. When i walked in, the front desk person was watching tv. Wouldn’t recommend. Take car elsewhere!!!

Needed an oil change-70$
Whatever I needed it badly
Truck wouldn't start, they did test the battery and banged starter, still no start
Put in new starter (80$ part, a 20 min job as I've done them before, charged 470$)
Took about 2.5 hours
Truck wouldn't start the next morning
I will not be back. Been a couple times for a quick oil change, staff is friendly enough, but no way is their work worth the price and wait. Go to a non-chain mechanic and pay less for better work. Even the dealership would charge 55$ but at least give a car wash with an oil change

I came in today for a brake fluid exchange (light came on) and Lillian, the store manager, said she'll have it inspected to see if that's what I needed. It was a wait but I wasn't in a rush. Lillian's friendly and welcoming personality made the experience very comfortable. She also handled a difficult customer with professionalism. Definitely will be coming back (:

They forgot to tighten the bolts on my front left wheel and caused very bad vibrations after I left, I thought my car was going to
fall apart. I could literally shake the wheel while it was “bolted” to the hub. I returned and they secured the bolts and apologized for the mistake. How do you forget to secure the wheel?

Checked our brakes and replaced one lug nut with a smaller one so we won't be able to use the lug wrench that is in the car to get it off in the case of an emergency.
Assuming they dropped one and lost it then replaced with another one they had on hand. Sloppy. Good thing we noticed!

Fine place to have winter tires mounted on beater wheels but they destroyed my finely refinished aluminum wheels. Tried to blend it out but this isn’t repairable without welding material in. Funny that one of the four was fine with no deep gouges. Very happy.

I received prompt and courteous service from Lillian at the Hamden, CT Munro Muffler. She replaced my rear turn signal lights and got me back out on the road within an hour.
