Literally never go here. I had a ton of name brand nice, in style clothes, and they told me my style was too “mature” I’m 25 years old and don’t dress like an old lady. Seriously ridiculous.

I truly don’t know how this place is in business. The workers are very sweet, but the place itself is trash. I took in 2 huge and full bins, name brand stuff, new with tags, or barely worn name brand heels. They took nothing and cited “they are being extremely picky” - with their racks so unbearably bare, how can you even be “picky”? Took those same bins a town over and got $150. I wouldn’t sell or shop here.

I love this Plato’s closet! I'm a frequent thrift store shopper and spend a lot of my time in several Platos closets a week. Rick, Sage and Leia are always very kind to me and helpful!
After reading some of the negative reviews all I have to say is, when you go to sell your items, this place is a business. Even if you think your items are in style and trendy doesn’t necessarily mean that it will be profitable for this business. Is it disappointing when you curate bins full of items to then have it turned down? Yes. But there's no reason to then leave negative reviews just because Plato’s closet is just doing what they need to do as a business.
I probably come once or twice a week to this location and to no fail I am always warmly greeted, treated respectfully and have a wonderful experience.

took 3 bags in with me just for 4 items to be taken out off my hands a lot of my items were in pristine condition worn only once 🥲 but couldn’t sell due to a “messed up hem”? a dress had a leg slit? it’s not a hem issue it’s purposely there. taking my stuff elsewhere to sell the rest.

I went there with two huge baskets of clothes and another of shoes (some never worn!) I had good brands and all were clean and folded and organized by season! They took one shirt and one pair of shoes and gave me $9! Yet their website says they accept gently used items. Some of my items were cleaner looking than what they were selling in their store. Not worth the gas to drive here.

Why does the website for this place? Say that they’ll take clothing up to one hour before close and I get here at 6:45 and they tell me that they stopped taking clothes at 6 o’clock, that’s two hours before closing considering I just drove 40 minutes to this freaking store. I’m pissed

I wanted to bring attention to a disappointing experience I had while visiting the store to sell several high-quality branded clothing items. Among the pieces I brought in were items from NVGTN—a well-known women's fitness clothing line—an Essentials hoodie, and various jeans, jean shorts, and tops.
While I was shopping around the store during my visit, I overheard a male manager speaking with a coworker about the NVGTN leggings. He questioned the authenticity of the logo, implying it was stamped on and not a genuine item. As someone who takes great pride in maintaining their clothing and invests considerable effort and money into curating quality pieces, it was disheartening and frankly disrespectful to hear such dismissive and judgmental comments—especially within earshot of customers.
Additionally, this same individual made remarks about the Essentials hoodie, referencing a very minor mark (not even the size of a dime) as justification for offering only $6. What stood out to me was not only the undervaluation but the clear lack of understanding or appreciation for the brand, which another employee attempted to explain. The manner in which he dismissed the item suggested a preconceived judgment about its authenticity or value.
What bothered me most was the casual and public nature of these comments. It felt unprofessional to speak so negatively and openly about customers' items in front of others. When I respectfully addressed the pricing concern with the female associate at checkout—making it clear my frustration wasn't directed at her—the male manager, who was within earshot, simply looked over without offering any acknowledgment, apology, or clarification. He continued folding clothes while making eye contact, which only added to the discomfort of the situation.

Went here with a bunch of Victoria’s Secret, Charlotte ruse, forever 21, some brand new with tags. I went in and they tried to give me $5 for two Victoria’s Secret bras, with tags. I reach in and look at my item and the tag was ripped off. I asked where the tag went and they said I don’t know about a tag I didn’t go through the clothes. Then the manager asks what’s going on and I asked who went through the clothes and they pointed to another girl and I asked where the tag was and the manager snaps at me and answers for her her, she didn’t take any tags off. Take your business elsewhere. Try Poshmark or consignment shop.

This Plato’s is super great! They choose very selective brand of clothes to fit people’s taste, especially if you like in “mall” clothing. I brought in a buy with some of the clothes I wear and they took most of it! Even some bags! It looks like they take clothes that look like what costumers would wear. They even give more money than the one in orange! It’s great! ? The store is very cleans and spacious. And you can actually move the clothes! (better than the orange one) I believe the people with bad reviews just couldn’t understand why they won’t take some clothes, or take “criticism” I guess. If you’re just that upset go talk to a friend.. or yourself in the mirror if you don’t have any and stop taking it out on a review ?thank you!

Should’ve known by the lack of diversity how my experience would be. I walked in with 3 pair of sneakers the employee immediately said she wouldn’t take the first pair which caused another employee to come over and say why not she says because it’s GUM on bottom of shoe the lady told her just plus gloves on and remove them when I finally got the text to come back in they gave me an offer for 2/3 pairs of shoes saying that these UGGS soles were missing so I looked at them confused because I can clearly see the soles she proceeds to say they’re still dirty rudely I said well ok say they’re dirty don’t say the soles are missing then I asked for manager of course he wasn’t around. I said all of this to say if you don’t look like them they won’t take you serious!!!milford has NEVER treated me like this .
