Today was my first time at this CVS store, and I was genuinely impressed by the service I received.
The cashier greeted me with a warm smile and a cheerful “good morning.” I asked about passport photos, and when she saw I had three small children, she kindly said, “For kids? No problem, I’ll do it for you — just hold them.”
The store’s camera wasn’t working, but she went above and beyond — using her own phone to take the photos of my three daughters. She even went out of her way to find stickers for my toddler.
She was respectful, proactive, and incredibly kind. I’m so thankful for the attention and care we received today.
I truly hope CVS encourages more employees to follow her example. We need more people like her — human, helpful, and capable of serving all kinds of customers with dignity.

I’ve been a loyal CVS customer for most of my life and fully understand the complexities of pharmacies—insurance issues, backorders, long lines, and the like. These are all to be expected in a busy pharmacy setting, and I use it both for specialty orders and regular prescriptions.
However, today’s experience was troubling and disappointing. I ran into the CVS near my home to quickly pick up some hair dye, a store I don’t usually frequent. Typically, I go to the location farther away because it has a 24-hour pharmacy, but today I had my 3-year-old daughter with me. While we were there, she touched some of the hair dye boxes, and a man—who I believe was the manager, an older white man with sandy-gray hair and glasses—snapped at her, saying, “Don’t touch that.” I immediately turned to him, and he told me I needed to fix what my daughter had touched.
I explained calmly that I would straighten the boxes, as I always do when my daughter accidentally moves something. I was upset by the interaction, so I responded firmly, “Please don’t talk to her. I am her mother. You can speak to me.” He continued to argue, claiming he had said “please,” but I told him that regardless, he should address me, not my child. I then explained that my daughter is autistic and nonverbal, and she doesn’t understand his commands. I made it clear that this behavior was unacceptable.
What upset me further was that he mentioned his own grandson is autistic and apologized, but by then, the damage was done. I couldn’t help but feel that if I had been a man, the approach would have been different. I felt humiliated and had to disclose my child’s disability to a stranger just to make him understand why he shouldn’t address a 3-year-old in the first place, especially when I was right there.
Having to disclose my child’s disability in that manner was uncomfortable and dehumanizing. My daughter’s autism shouldn’t be something I have to explain to strangers in a store, nor should it be the reason I have to advocate for my own child’s dignity in that way. I hope in the future, CVS can provide better training for staff so that other parents won’t have to endure the embarrassment and discomfort I felt today.
The situation could have been handled with more respect and understanding, and I sincerely hope that CVS works to create a more sensitive and inclusive environment for families like mine.

The pharmacy workers are not nice at all. When you call, they never have someone in Spanish, but if you go in person, there is always someone who is Spanish. I don't know why they put the Spanish option, nor is there anyone to help you.
