“Copper Beech has always been my restaurant to celebrate a special occasion - NYE is one of them. Our dinner was good, not a wow, but good. Service was just average, guess I expected more. The kitchen staff was helping out the wait staff by waiting on tables - something they usually don't do, so things didn't always go right. Also, the Copper Beech Inn looks like it needs a renovation, getting pretty dated. Hoping that 2024 brings good changes to the Inn.”

“What a gem! We come back year after year! The cottages are absolutely adorable, very comfortable, and clean. The location is fantastic, so close to Hammonasset State Park, the beach, and shoreline dining. The owners are the best, they are kind, accommodating, and they remember us every year. We've stayed in several different cottages (both small and large) and have been happy with every visit! A perfect alternative to a crowded hotel. Easy parking, beautiful grounds. You won't be disappointed!Rooms: The cottages are ABSOLUTELY adorable. They have a rustic feel, but are very clean and cozy. Each one has its own flair/decor.The large cabins have a kitchenette (toaster, coffee maker, microwave, dorm fridge). There is an AC unit and electric heat, if needed. The area is peaceful and ability to open windows for fresh air is great. Each cottage (large and small) has a private bathroom.Nearby activities: Hammonasset State Park, Meig's Point Beach, Nature Center, shoreline dining with great views, Clinton Outlets (if you like to shop)Safety: Easy on-site parking which is only for registered guests, sidewalks to all cottages, outdoor lighting, very safe.Noteworthy details: A hidden gem, in my opinion. A great alternative to stuffy, crowded hotels.”

“Gave blood at this place once. Beautiful setting overlooking LI Sound. I have neighbors that joined so they can eat in the restaurant. They say the Thus night prime rib is fantastic. Parking lot is always busy so it must be good.”

“Our Garden Club hosted our 20th anniversary celebration at their venue. The banquet and General Manager provided a host of ideas. Since the meal selections are extensive. Our members were delighted with the beauty of how the food was arranged and more importantly how each dish was top notch The waitstaff excited service that continued to compliment the afternoon. Our event was a great success!!”

“We had a very nice dinner there, celebrating our anniversary. The food was delicious! However, we noticed towards the end of our meal that every other table had been served a basket of rolls or bread. We never got any, and wondered if you had to ask for them. By then it was much too late in our meal to even bother.”

“I love visiting the Griswold Inn. The staff is so accommodating and I enjoy eating in the tavern by the fireplace. So enjoyable and in one of my favorite towns in the United States Will always come back here to visit. Love the ambience and the history. You wont be disappointed”

“This is a very nice and comfortable hotel. My room was huge and very clean. I liked having a kitchen with a mini-fridge, sink, and microwave. The bathroom was spacious, very hot water, and plenty of towels. Comfortable, clean bed. The hotel is on the older side, so some things are run down here or there, but overall, it's comfortable, beautifully landscaped, and has a gorgeous view of the ocean. There's a cafe, bar, and restaurant inside, and a pizza place in the parking lot. The restaurant's food was OK. I walked down to the beach, and it was cute. Tons of families in the pool and running around the grounds. When you go outside, it's hard to come back into the main hotel. There is a nice concierge who opens the doors for you, but it would be nice to have more ways to go in and out. The fitness center was spacious and nice. Was here for a conference and it was a very nice space for that purpose. People were very considerate.”
