Consider Highwatch Recovery at your own risk. There are NO email addresses on their website to contact people, but they have a button to leave a review on Google (presumably for compliments). That is pathetic. Anyone effected by addiction knows its a family disease. The inability to communicate with staff or qualifiers denies that reality. Focus is one thing....myopic thought processes are another.

Sure, they are very expensive. But my time there was very fulfilling & worth it. I learned alot there & loved it, especially working with the horses & volleyball. Although, the people you meet there seem like great friends who will go to meetings with you & be awesome afterwards.. No, not at all. It's like everything is out the window with fellow "friends" you'd think would be supportive afterwards. They have some very weird long term dudes who don't belong there like Travis & Mr. Cigar.

There are no doubt many great treatment centers in the world, but High Watch is unmatched for the caliber of its staff, its interdisciplinary treatment model combining great clinical care with AA, and its beautiful grounds (and great food). When you need help, this is the place and these are the people you want to be there for you. I'm forever grateful they were for me.

Started uncontrollable drinking at 20 and lost the next 15 years of my life. After multiple hospital trips and 2 detox's- I was about to walk to the packy when my legs gave out and I fell down. That's when I decided I had enough and my parents had High Watch's number on the counter. I called, said I needed help- and High Watch's staff took care of all the details. It was my first rehab and I was terrified and couldn't think straight for 3 weeks. When they recommend staying as long as you can- its strictly for your benefit. I found a private spot and took the second step. I went to the scheduled meetings, listened, took notes and stayed 4 months. I am confident that nearly 6 years later my desire to maintain sobriety has only been achieved by the tools High Watch gave me.

I wonder how much cheaper the cost of staying at High Watch detox ($5,000 a day to get your bp checked and get vistaril) and residency ($28,000 )would be if they didn't have such lavish, expensive, trips and parties. Every photo here is of red carpet pics, off site fancy trips and parties, fancy dinners, company golf outings, ad Russell Brand ( who it looks like you may want to distance yourself from now ). My favorite is the pictures of the top brass having a good time at Disney's Grand Floridian...the most expensive resort at DW. You guys spare no expenses when it comes to parties, trips, nad BonJovi Tributes??? Show them the luxury that residents live in in upper steele. No palm trees or pools there..

After a week they ran my debit card for the 14k. Got declined.. duh. STATE POLICE CAME and took me away in an ambulance. If I knew any better I should have sued. They never asked for the money I owed ($600/day). The food was good. Only 3% become sober. Good luck

This place is false advertisement they advertise they take Medicaid and when you call for hell for your love ones they tell you they don’t take Medicaid and they want private pay then they shouldn’t be advertise that they take Medicare or Medicaid. They wait until you tell them the problem and then they ask you if you can afford over $22,000 for 25 day program. I think it’s ridiculous to advertise something like that to say that you want to help someone and then turned him down because they have Medicaid, it’s disgusting.

Overall, Highwatch is best for younger people. The programs are highly structured. The place is not equipped for any medical issues one may have so I don’t feel safe sending anyone with ie back pain issues, liver issues, diabetes, neuropathy ect. The therapist didn’t understand how to deal with nonviolent anger issues one maybe having. Interesting To me the therapists had a hard time recognizing that the frustration was from the person’s addiction recovery process. However, the communication with family was good. The providers appear to take issues the patients say personally when clearly it’s part of the persons struggle with pieces of their recovery. The doctor was not helpful and withheld medication due to what I believe a hurt ego. I don’t want to add details but the money piece in the beginning impacted my thoughts negatively. PS. They do not budge in their spiritual belief system even if in the beginning they say they will make accommodations.

I first went there because I felt I needed help. My family was very supportive but when I got there, I must have fallen four or five times and hit my head really hard. Yes they sent me to the hospital for a CAT scan and I did not have a bleed in my head, but I was not right I could not speak I could not express myself. Yet, with all my falls, they basically forced me to go to all of these activities and classes. Well, finally, I fell down the stairs and really hurt myself. The staff is good, but not all of them. What I ended up doing was leaving there and coming home. It’s almost like a prison there and the food is not appealing. Most of the things we did were interesting. But if you couldn’t make it, it was like you were in jail. I think I’m done dissing them. That’s basically my short review.

High Watch helped lay the foundation for me to start rebuilding myself from within. One day at a time as I approach 2 years sober.
