Our son joined Marvelwood in the Fall as a junior. He attended other schools before but never felt they were the right fit. At Marvelwood, he found a “home away from home”. The size of the community makes it easy to know everyone. The faculty and the learning center are incredibly supportive: they taught our son, who has ADHD, how to advocate for himself, and develop learning strategies. All the departments of the school outperformed our expectations. And the campus is beauti

Most schools concentrate on the college preparedness of their students. Marvelwood does this and more. They place priority on their students emotional well being. Their staff goes beyond their job description to make each child feel like a valued member of their institution. Their is a sense of family and it shows when you walk around campus and see how the students are happy and engaging.

We are finding our first year of the Marvelwood experience to be exceptionally rich and rewarding for our son and our family. The opportunities for academic and social growth are exactly as we had hoped for. Though a day student, our son has been fully integrated from the beginning into every aspect of campus life. The academic curriculum, athletic participation, and community service commitments have all proved to be rigorous, but fulfilling when diligence is applied. It is reassuring to observe our son rise to the presented challenges and welcome hard work with enthusiasm. The earnest classroom and field efforts are balanced by a healthy dose of fun and school spirit. We are always excited to be included within campus events and witness these unique experiences first hand. As parents, we feel we are an integral part of the community. The school is exemplary in keeping us up to date on our son's real-time development and pursuits. In particular, we are amazed and grateful for the innovation and customized exploration within departments of particular interest. We look forward to the many exceptional experiences ahead. Marvelwood creates a platform of self-confidence from which students can discover new avenues for personal growth and accomplishment. Every day is exciting and unique for a Marvelwood student.

Marvelwood is the school we were looking for.Our daughter came for Jr and Sr. year. Our only regret is that we did not know about it earlier. She needed a school that would celebrate her interests and talents, free from bias, bullies and keep her love of learning alive through any struggle. They gave her the tools for independence that she needs for college and the global perspective we wanted for her through the classmates and friends she now has from around the world. If you are looking for tools, but not the box, this is the place for you.

This is not a good school. Lots of textbook instruction. "Biology" class taught nothing but the PETA agenda.

A small co-ed school with a lot of heart! The campus is expansive, the teachers are outstanding, and they program your child for success. This is not a school for your child if they have behavior or emotional issues, look to the Foreman School if that is the case. This is you basic prep boarding school that, due to small class size, allows those that would fall between the cracks in a larger environment- to focus on the subject matter and grasp the material.A very family type setting, the staff are your child's family away from home. Like most boarding schools, there is no tolerance for poor behavior. You can get extra academic help in a program called, "Strategies" but beware, the tuition and extra program have very high price tags although well worth the cost.Students are very happy here and the campus is expanding and improving every year to meet the demands of new applicants. The dorm common areas could use some sprucing up but the student rooms themselves are an ample size, bright with nice big picture window views. You'd be hard pressed to find a more involved faculty and creative electives. The athletics and state of the art new gym are terrific and, if sports aren't your thing, a wonderful music and theatre department.I can't imagine where students would feel more comfortable and learn in this tight environment in a better boarding school. Unless your child is Exeter or Choate material, this place has it all.
