I have Never had a problem w/Home Depot (Lisbon) and I shop there quite frequently. Since I am a female and don't always know what I'm looking for or need, most of the customer service I have encounted have been great to the point of figuring out what I need or could use. Since we own an older home and it needed SOME renovating/fixing we use Home Depot quite often. After reading some of the negative comments listed I just wonder if these people called the MGR. to assist which is what I would have done. NO ONE should be treated badly in ANY STORE!!! BRAVO to the ppl. who work at Lisbon Home Depot and do their BEST; Not everyone is a Good Customer Service Person esp. if They don't know their job or what's in their Dept. DON'T LET ANYONE TREAT YOU DISRESPECTFUL....CALL A MANAGER IMMEDIATLY!!!

I was looking for help and saw this guy sitting at a desk near flooring. I stood in front of him for a few minutes waiting for him to acknowledge me. I'm not sure why he didn't because he was sitting there doing nothing. I finally asked him if he could help me in paint and he told me to go to the paint counter. I went and waited but no one came. I asked him for help again and he said someone would be at the counter shortly. Again, no one showed up. I am 69 years old and was very tired after waiting for 20 minutes. I finally went to a register and asked someone for help. They called the department manager. It was the guy who was sitting on his a** doing nothing and refusing to help me. When he got to the paint counter he was extremely rude like I was interrupting him. Thankfully I didn't have to deal with him for very long because a very sweet young lady came over. She apologized for my wait and said that her shift had just started. The department manager gets zero stars. The store gets three stars and Ash the paint lady gets 5 stars. If it wasn't for her, that store would have lost my business.

Would like to give zero stars!! I went in to flooring looking for a FLOOR MATT I brought in Hartford but didn't want to go all the way back for a second one. This store is sadly next to my house. App said was where i was . BUT WASNT. Walked out end asked employee if they had . They said yes in flooring!! No really?? Asked another employee said no clue. Two more employees later I gave up and walked out . Early morning tons of staff . I think I was only customer whole place . No one could be bothered to help! Ridiculous and not the first time . I avoid this store but over last 5 years I have came in maybe 4 times and same experience! Unbelievable!!

Horrible experience. I was looking to purchase a A/C and heat pump. I have never heard I don't know so many times from multiple employees. And then I was told it's all online. Like to say I don't want your business and figure it out yourself. Someone from management needs to correct this. Update: Went across the street to Lowe's and got everything I needed plus was quoted a price and when it can be delivered. Lowe's is the way to go!

Appalled is a good word to sum up the experience my fiancé and I had at the Lisbon CT Home Depot today. Let me take it back to last month when we stopped in to pick up a storage tote which was located right beside the self checkout. There was a pleasant young gentleman working at the self check out who greeted us when we walked in and was able to visualize the exact area of the store we walked over to. We were in the store for all of 2 minutes then continued back to the self checkout area. An employee (with incredibly too short of bangs), Janice, who was not working self check out was walking past the area and felt it was necessary to venture over to the register we were using and stated she needed "to check our tote". Although I felt this was blatant racial profiling, I let it slide as I know many stores have a policy to check inside of totes. Despite, I couldn't help to feel perplexed as to why she felt it was her job to do so while she was passing by and not working at self checkout. Today, we went in to purchase 2 buckets, 1 box of cement, 2 rubber putty knives, and 2 packages of admix. Our self checkout register was the only one in use. Janice walked right over to us and separated our Buckets stating she needed to check them and then proceeded to pick up every single item we had. I immediately stopped and just stood there flabbergasted. I asked why it was necessary For her to pick up every item we had and she told me the "self check out" area was in fact "assisted check out". I asked if she had sanitized her hands and why she wasn't respecting 6 feet of distance as she was standing about a foot in front of me. At this point she stopped handling our items, but then stood right behind us. We exited the store and I called and spoke with manager Eric who was was very pleasant and offered understanding and apologies for the experience we had in his store. I asked him what exactly "assisted check out" was and he stated per store reviews, some customers enjoy some assistance from the self check out employee rather than just having them standby when the customer has a lot of items or the store is crowded. I asked if the employees ought to ask the customers if they would like help and he said that they should. I would imagine an employee should ask a customer if they would like assistance and every single one of their items touched during a global pandemic when many customers have at risk family members at home and the store has guidelines in place to keep both staff and customers safe. We also had a handful of very small items along with two buckets and there was 2 of us. No other self checkout register was being used. I would like to also mention that the self checkout area is labeled with multiple signs stating "self check out", no sign states "assisted check out ". This is a prime example of the all too common, absolutely repulsive, racial profiling that occurs in this country. I appreciate the response from the store manager. I also appreciate the fine gentlemen who helped us in the cement section. Despite, I will not allow racial profiling to go unaddressed. Not anymore. Edit: when I called the store to ask the first name of the employee working at self checkout, I was informed by employee Emily, that she "heard the story and Janice was just doing her job". Clearly the staff at this Home Depot not only need racial bias training along with a refresher on COVID guidelines but they could use some brushing up in customer service.

bought an oven with install amd removal. scheduled it when buying at the store for Saturday. saturday comes and they just leave an oven in the middle of my kitchen and leave! when we inquired about the installation and removal they said someone will call you in a few days for that. so now I have an oven in the middle of my kitchen for who knows how long and have to take a day off of work when they can eventually get to it. this was never discussed in the buying and scheduling very dissapointing.

Attempted to return several items and requested a store credit. The young male was extremely rude and denied the return. He then proceeded the throw the items back into my card. Very rude and unprofessional.

The kid’s workshops that are done at this Home Depot are great. My children look forward to this every month and I hope it’s something that they always do long after my kids are grown. I respect the effort put into the coordination of these events on such a high level.

Between my home with all the updates I've done in the past ~2 years, and Psychology CT LLC (our business), I've spent a huge amount of money on hardware stores. Here's how Lowe's and The Home Depot compare: Both have similar prices (sometimes identical to the penny!), both are similarly sized, and both have similar selections. Here's how they contrast: The Home Depot's customer service is consistently better, and when issues arise, Lowe's is far more reluctant to "make it right". Here are some of the most recent examples of what happened at Lowe's: 1. I returned a defective hammer drill to the Lisbon, CT Lowe's, which cost $30 more than Amazon for the identical item, btw. It took two cashiers, one head cashier, and the assistant store manager to figure out what the problem was (yes, I had my receipt). The item wasn't in their system (though it was in the online system and perhaps some other stores). It took about 40 or 45 minutes to do what should have been a 1-2 minute return. I was offered nothing to make up for that. I asked the corporate office and they said as they did give me a gift card last year, they'll not do so for this. 2. I ordered Composite decking and the "square edge" type, but it came as a grooved edge on its ends. That issue may have been the vendor's being unclear, however, but I still ended up with something I didn't think I had ordered. Oh well, I'll just have to make due, as they don't carry a non-grooved one in the same style, plus my contractor had already cut some of the boards.... I asked about discounting it, and they said no. 3. Lowe's in Dayville, CT was a 1.5 hrs wait for a small internet order for what was in the store. It should have been ready upon arrival, anyway, but to add 1.5 hours is incredible! Talking to the corporate office, I was offered nothing. My contractor, who picked up the order, said he doesn't want to back there again. 4. I bought driveway cold patch from Lowe's in Waterford, CT & asked for bag/liner, the associate said none & it said would be fine, I put in car, & a tar looking stain was found there when I got home that I've tried a lot to clean, but only got in better shape. Shouldn't they lend me some kind of carpet cleaner to clean it or pay a cleaner to fix it? I was told "no" by their corporate office. Now, there were plenty of successful transactions at Lowe's, with the above being a fraction of the many times I was there. But Home Depot has been very different. Home Depot has not only attentively listened to me when something came up, but they were always ready to offer me something to make up for any incident. This is in stark contrast to Lowe's, who's representative said this to me when I said I'd go to the Better Business Bureau: "Good evening Sam, Thank you for your email. I apologize we have been unable to meet your needs as a consumer. We appreciate the feedback that you have provided and take the information seriously. As a consumer it is of course your right to file a complaint with the BBB. However, I do need to advise you that the Executive Customer Relations office would be assigned to follow up regarding the matter and the resolution will remain the same. I do apologize any inconvenience. Thank you, Benjamin Executive Customer Relations " At this point, unless the pricing is significantly better at Lowe's, and often times Home Depot will match prices, anyway, I will actively avoid Lowe's. One more thing: I find The Home Depot will honor competitor coupons (of any value!), while Lowe's won't unless it meets a lot of restrictions (including, per a store I talked to, not more than 10% off).

This review is based on 3 interactions....I purchased a tool box combo set that was only available online, so I picked site to store pick up. The price was great, but if I wanted it delivered to my house it was $60 more. The toolbox came in before the date stated. So far so good! This past Saturday I went and picked up the tool box. I approached the customer service desk and waited while a man was speaking to the employee. All of a sudden the guy turns around and yells "she just hit me!" I didn't know what to do. He proceeds to make a racially based "joke"?!? The employee at the desk told me just to ignore him. Everyone was laughing but me. He proceeds to laugh and say "look she doesn't even know what to do". Now I know why I shop online!!! So the employee asks my last name, she tells.me my first name. Never asks me for ID. She goes to a locked up area to get a big box. I sign for pick up. I was never given a paper receipt. You would think it would be over, but no..... My husband opens his Christmas gift, while I wasn't home, to find it crushed on 1 corner so the drawers wouldn't work correctly. I got home to find this out. I call the Home Depot and spoke with a guy who handles special deliveries. He listens to my story about it being broken and being a special order, he laughs and tells me to bring it back. I call back and speak to a girl at customer service, who also laughed after hearing my story..like she wasn't surprised it was damaged. I bring back the broken tool box and all the packaging, only to find out they never gave me the top box of the combo set. Mark at customer service at first thought we were up to no good, but then upon inspecting the box say that it stated box 1 of 1. So they never sent the entire tool box to start with. Mark is the only reason why they even got 2 stars, he allowed us to buy another set that was in store, at a slightly reduced price. Horrible shopping experience. I don't appreciate feeling like I'm trying to get something I didn't pay for. I will NEVER do online shopping with Home Depot again.

Poor customer service in the tool rental section. I had a problem with a leaf blower with less than 20 minutes of run time on it and they wanted to charge me almost what I paid for it to fix it. After that amount of usage I shouldn't have had such a run around or been told to pay anything to fix it. I'll be going to the Montville store from now on, they've treated much better.

My husband is currently renovating the bathroom in our house, we stopped to pick up a few more supplies I had to go to the bathroom while he puzzled over tile selections. My leg is broken very badly, I have an orthopedic boot and have been told not to put weight on that leg at all I was using one of the store's mobility carts as I wouldn't be able to assist with carrying anything on my crutches. I was told I could not use the bathroom because of the mobility cart, the employee was incredibly rude even after I explained that I could not put weight on my leg. So I guess if you are disabled this is not the place to shop. I will be going to Lowes for all of my future home improvement needs.
