Shame on you for cutting ties with the rescue groups. I hope everyone knows of your decision when picking a new vet. Please everyone if you are reading this, also give a one star review to pull this rating down and alert the public to what he did!

Unfortunately, I have to give one star to even post a review. I will start with this.. prior to new ownership/veterinarian, this was a great, safe and trusting place to bring your animals. Last Friday I brought my 1.5 yr old male cat in because he was showing signs of discomfort and wasn’t able to void. They told me he had a blockage. Their plan was to remove the block, and keep him for at least 24-48 hours, with a catheter in place to monitor him, flush his bladder, kidneys and make sure this block was cleared. To my surprise they called me a few hours later to pick him up, stating he was fine to go home. He was supposed to go home with antibiotics, pain meds and special diet food. I had my daughter pick him up for me. Not only did they not give him antibiotics or any medicine to go home with, when she took him out of his carrier he still had his catheter in him!!! This poor baby was bleeding all over the place and still in so much pain!! I brought him back to have the catheter removed, I asked HOW could this even happen and why he wasn’t sent home with his medications… the Vet Tech responded, in the waiting room, in front of other patients, that she “thought there was a financial issue”. WOW! They quoted me a price of 1200$ before they even took my cat to the back room, I applied and was approved for care credit and even offered to give them a down payment that day if needed. BUT why does money matter when it comes to caring for animals? What they quoted me was to give my cat proper care, medication, food, and a 48 hour stay. Which they did NONE of the above and it gets worse! My poor baby still couldn’t pee, he was clearly not ok. I took him to a new vet first thing in the morning and they have been amazing!!! He is still in their care because that’s how bad his condition was when he was sent home from this place!! His kidney and potassium levels were dangerously high, he had a fever, blood in his urine etc. He should have never been discharged. This was pure negligence!!! Please do not bring your animals to this new “Veterinarians”.

I manage a shelter on the shoreline and I have worked with Madison Vet in the past and the staff was lovely. Unfortunately the doctor who owns the practice is cruel and greedy and does not care about animals. I have told everyone I know about his decision to cut ties with rescues and shelters so they will not patronize his establishments. I truly hope they ostracize him from the veterinary community and he loses all of his money for what he has done.

This veterinary hospital used to be one of the best in the state, unfortunately it was sold a few months ago and the new owner cut ties with all the rescues and a few of the really good Drs. on his staff were fired or left. I realize that as a business you need to be profitable, but I can see the writing on the wall that this place will no longer be what is once was.Profits over care.

Shame on you for discontinuing your support of the countless rescue animals that need medical help. I understand a business is a business, but it is unacceptable to without notice, cease care for those that depend on you. It’s not all about dollars and cents. How disappointing that a veterinarian wouldn’t put the best interests of animals before lining his own pockets. I’ll be spreading the word about your decision.

I never write poor reviews, but it’s unacceptable for the new owner to cut ties with rescue groups, and I’m assuming this is because they receive better prices. Think about what that means for his bottom line. I’ve transferred my pets over to a new vet and hope the laid off staff and current staff can find placements soon…now that this news is public, the ship will sink fast. Dr. Kumar, you should move out of veterinary science if you care so much about profits.

I have never been to this practice and I will never go it. The decision to cut their ties with the rescue groups is wrong in every way. I would never trust my beloved pet to the care of someone who doesn’t seem to really care about animals at all.

Beyond disgusted that the NEW owner of Madison Vet has decided to cut ties with the Dan Cosgrove animal shelter whom they’ve worked along side for some time helping animals in need. He then FIRED staff who spoke out against it (if you know the Madison vet staff and doctors you know how much they andvocate for animals). I have canceled all 4 of my pet’s appointments With them and encourage everyone to do the same! You get into helping animals for the love, not to make your pockets deeper. Beyond disheartened and disgusted with the new owner.

The new owner allegedly cut off care to all rescues the practice worked with without notice, and fired staff for standing up for those rescues. I would not trust someone who lacks compassion with the care of my animals.

Firing Employees, check. SILENTLY CANCELLING MUCH NEEDED SURGERIES FOR PETS, check. Not answering concerned customers phone calls, check. Abandoning a wild life rescue that gave you great business, check. RIP this veterinary hospital, Sudesh Kumar is running it down down down. So toxic!

I cannot say enough nice things about Madison Vetrinary Hospital and their staff, especially Dr. Schaper, Dr. Hall, Nina, Drew and Jen. They were so wonderful and gracious when it came to Lucky and his entropion surgery and were very patient, kind and understand about easing my fears when I thought there was a problem during recovery. Once again MANY thanks to the entire staff❣I will post before and after pics once he's fully healed ?

Honest. Will not string a pet along that may be better off in college. The truth is best and the doctors there are kind and HONEST. Thank you Madison Vetrinary Clinic

Absolutely LOVE this place. The staff is fantastic. The doctors are amazing. They care for your fur baby as if he or she was their own. We rescued Waldo almost 2 years ago. He loves everyone here and gets so excited when we pull into the parking lot. We drive almost an hour each way just to bring him here. He just had to have surgery and they took amazing care if him. He feels safe and loved here and that's all that matters to us!

I didn't even have to go in to love this place. They brought my cat out to me and the way he was handled in those few moments I could tell he was in good hands. Thank you all so much for taking care of my little Cody!
