No one seems happy working here . Always loved coming here but starting to think I should go somewhere else.also the meat and vegetables lately have seemed out of date even though the date says it isn't. Liked the old setup better always looking for items.

The disorganization and mismanagement gets worse and worse. Take shopping for Passover products. In the past, one aisle was clearly marked for these foods all located in one space. Today I discovered no less than 6 locations scattered throughout the store, each with a small selection of Passover foods. No rhyme or reason. Rather than an apology, it would be nice if management actually became competent; Hamden deserves better.

I placed my first delivery order yesterday so that I wouldn't have to take a two year old out in this frigid weather.My delivery window was 6-8pm. The time came and went with no delivery. No phone call and no status change on my order online either. At around 10:30 my order was updated to ready for delivery with a new delivery time of 11- midnight. Who gets groceries delivered at midnight? Now the app isn't allowing me to cancel because the order was already picked. I stayed up until 11 and finally went to bed( my husband stayed up and waited) no delivery.I called today and they said the driver tried to call at 11:50pm but couldn't get through. The rep was less than helpful. He saw no problem with a midnight delivery time. What's the point in having time slots to pick from if you don't honer them. How is this a hassle free experience? Now the money spent ( over $100) is still not back on my card. No apology, no nothing. I guess I'll be a BigY shopper from now on.

Stop & Shop is done with the renovation and I will be taking a break for awhile. I shop for 2 households and previously only at s/s. The new area for vegetable is very crowded. I stand and wait until I can grab some veggies without breathing down somebodies neck. Not really interested in getting covid. Did they forget about this aspect. There seem to be fewer fresh produce item and many more packaged and prepared items Now taking up most of the long wall in the produce area. The natural foods are a is gone. This two aisle area with its own freezer and refrigerator areas was a primary draw to the store for me. It takes me much longer to do a weeks shopping as vegan alternatives are mixed in with meat products through the store. A ridiculous amount of space has been given over to toilet paper and paper towels. I suspect this is to cover up supply chain shortages in other areas. I did voice my concerns twice as this was In progress, but was told this was set in stone and would be extended to all stop and shop stores. I have been back twice since this was completed. Will check back in 90 days to see if changes. Meanwhile exploring the many nearby options.

As part of the current renovation, the two aisles on the left side of the store that previously were designated for healthy choices have disappeared permanently, according to a store employee. He said that those items are now placed with "regular" items. I find searching out items much more difficult and time-consuming now.

This is the Stop&Shop I use most often because it is open until midnight - two hours longer than the others in the area. I also appreciate the freshness and variety of their produce. The store is undergoing major renovations, which based upon what has been done thus far will greatly improve the appearance of the store. Things are a bit difficult to locate at present because of that but more than once an employee has helped me find what I wanted. The downside of shopping late is that items are regularly missing from the shelves, particularly items on sale or earning points. While that happens in any supermarket I have found it worse here. It would be a great improvement if some restocking could be done earlier.

Typical stop & shop but could use a few updates. The self checkout needs a revamp because it is extremely slow you need an approval after every scan because the machine miscalculates or gives you less than a second to place an item in your bag. Also the deli kiosk number generator is consistently broken. Another note is that the bread is not properly guarded so you are getting the grab your own bread/bagels at your own risk as some customers don't use white sheets at all or new ones when selecting additional items and they don't have utensils. There stock is also generally not up to date with the ads and many items are usually out. Today they were out of a selection of eggs, orange juice, shredded cheese, chicken to name a few. Hopefully this feedback is reviewed and new/updated processes implemented.

I went to Stop and Shop to pick up a bouquet of flowers for my aunt. The nice lady a the floral counter was so sweet. I explained that it was for a special occasion and she wrapped my flowers in a nice package with a pretty bow. It made me feel special and seen like my occasion to celebrate was important. I love it when someone takes care of me professionally. Great experience

I hate coming here but I work for Instacart so I'm here often. So last night the store was pretty slow and I went to go in 20 item or less line. The cashier refused to check me out Bc I had more. I told him he's just standing around doing absolutely nothing. Lazy piece of s*****

Stop and shop carries a store brand white skim milk american cheese. Normally something that would be more specialized like low or fat free products has a greater tendency to be a name brand product. I am writing this because I have read that the millenial generation is not buying american cheese to the point of extinction. I read the reviews and quite honestly no matter where I shop everything depends on how fast it sells to be replenished and I have found good and bad produce wherever I shop,

Crowded store with risk of being car-jacked in broad daylight in the parking lot. I go here once in a while but generally use the markets in Cheshire, North Haven and Wallingford.

Boy, this market sure went downhill in the last 25 years. It's downmarket and RIDICULOUSLY expensive for produce. I know I'm spoiled living in CA again but Stop and Shop produce costs more than Manhattan's Upper East Side. As Sue W noted, it's also not at all clean. The red peppers (cut in plastic) were slimy and I actually drove back to get my money refunded lol. Rented a car in Hartford so enjoyed tooling around my old haunts. Depressing all around. Rent is cheap in New Haven (even at the glorious, much-renovated Taft) and so is parking. But my God, the grocery stores are expensive. You're better off paying high prices at a local upscale market like Whitneyville Food Center. Closest Trader Joe's isn't close.

My local stop and shop store. I'm there twice a week getting groceries. Unfortunately no longer buying from the Deli department since the attendants cutting are tremendously RUDE. I ask for my meats thin and they give me the first few sliced thin and then finish it off extremely thick. I have called the store and spoke to the manager. This has happened so many times where I leave the deli department embarrassed because I'm being mocked by my order. Terrible and will let all my friends and family to refrain from visiting this store.

This store should be closed. How anyone can buy "fresh" fish or meat with that putrid, rotting carcass smell lingering over the store especially in the meat and seafood department is beyond me. Don't tell me its because of Covid 19 either. Big Y any location is light years ahead in terms of cleanliness, organization and customer service. Should have saved your robot money for some cleaning supplies and new store leaders. What a shame to a once proud company. Stop and shop your ship has sailed
