I love the store and it hurts to put this up. I have to give the store a poor rating because the lack of product for tcg players, bathrooms never working, no food or drink. The owner keeps making excuses as to why there is a lack of anything in store and decided to just shut the bathrooms down instead of fixing g the problem. I've talked to the owner personally looking for product and he asked for a few days to get it because the person uncharted of wording product couldn't get it. The product never came in. It looks to be empty promises, just to quiet any complaints the customers have . This has been going on for months. The only reason myself and others keep going to the store is the guys who working in the back area . Brandon and Gavin are AWESOME always helpful, there isn't enough good things to be said about them. This is the only reason I can give the store 2 stars.

Super neat store, loved the variety. The figure aisles were my bread and butter; was hoping to see some more popup parade figures but overall fantastic selection! Had an extensive funko section as well. Will 100% be on my list of places to go when i visit CT again

After coming to this store since the summer and loving the community here, I unfortunately have to lower my rating.First things first, Brandon and Emy (staffers for the card game section) are amazing and a huge part of why I still love the store even with all of my complaints. They have always been helpful staff members who really build and care for a solid gaming community. I'm really glad they helped me meet some really great people. The events are also great, and I hope they continue for a long time. The staff, events, and community are excellent. I recommend this store as a place to meet new people interested in trading card games and other similar hobbies. But I'd recommend spending money on those games elsewhere for now.All my complaints have to do with the direction the store is going as a business.I fell in love with MXG because of Magic the Gathering, Warhammer, and board game groups that meet here. I was always happy to support the store by buying my packs, minis, or games as a new player. But since the move to the larger store, less and less effort is being put into stocking products for these wildly popular communities. Deck boxes, card sleeves, and accessories are often out of stock. New board games are rarely added to the shelves. Entire releases for popular card games are understocked or missed entirely, and now, the store is no longer even part of the Magic the Gathering official program. So that means promotions and official events are no longer happening.Though the new store is significantly larger than the previous location, the space for games and events is a small and hidden part of the store, even with significant portions of the floor completely unused.I just don't understand why the store is choosing to neglect the trading card game and board game players. When stock is available, people are eager to spend money here, but the lack of attention or care for these products leads people to buy somewhere else. I do not want to lose out on the awesome space and community, but it is getting harder and harder to recommend this store as a place to spend money. Just come for game nights and buy elsewhere until things improve.

I have to update my review. This store went from my favorite in the area to one where I have to wonder why I visit. The move to the bigger location seemed like an opportunity to create an awesome space for the gaming community. Staff like Brandon and Gavin consistently made efforts to make the place attractive for repeat and regular business.Unfortunately, those efforts have gone nowhere. I cannot patron a business that does not maintain product on the shelves. I cannot attend events that are not being held. I cannot spend time in and recommend a store to friends that does not respond to feedback.I was a big fan of this store, but unfortunately they've made it very difficult to remain a customer.

The staff in the back of the store is fantastic... Brandon and Emy are super knowledgeable and helpful.... the owner however has no clue and should leave the ordering of CCG products to those two... 1 week after release of the new mtg set and they have nothing to offer customers... if your looking to play CCG games it's great, but if you are looking to buy, your better served elsewhere in town... at least they will have product in stock

I was really excited when I heard Most excellent was moving to a bigger store, I was hoping there would be more tournament space, more board games available, and maybe even comics. Only one of those things happened and it was the one that mattered the least to me.The board games available are entirely what was left at the last location, which they had stopped ordering new product a few months before moving. Suggestions were even requested for board games to purchase but the owner hasn't followed through or listened. There are I think exactly the same number of tables as there were in the last location, and the chairs keep breaking. During days when multiple game formats are playing tournaments it is very tight, and people who wanted to come in to play casually are pushed out since there is no room available for them. And a minor complaint but they keep most of the best snacks up front by the doors, as far from the play area as possible, which when I'm taking part in a tournament or release event, I don't want to have to go all the way over there for snacks. Which is a big deal because on days when its just casual play, the money makers are the snacks and drinks!I have to say that a lot of the regulars there are not loyal to the shop or to the location, we are happy that it is clean, bright, and nice in there, but at this point we come back for the community that has been built. A community that has been fostered almost entirely by the back of house staff, mainly Brandon and Emy. The lack of staffing, and listening to customers is a problem.

The store is a great place to play any of the games you like to play. The staff in the back Brandon and Gavin are both great, always helpful and welcoming to everyone. Very approaching. Can't say enough about them.On the flip side why I have to give this rating is because of the owner, and his lack of care towards the customers that it appears he has, never has product for some games, and doesn't restock other items, i.e. food and drinks, the customers have left suggestions in a suggestion box to show what we feel would help improve the overall experience of the store. And it seems to fall on deaf ears. Also i recently found out that the owner has a former employee who now runs his own store still ordering product for the store, and it to no surprise most excellent rarely gets product. I don't understand how a business man would allow the competition to be in control of ordering product, instead of relying on the people that work there.Again great place to play but not for purchases, I hate to say it.

I would do a 1 star but Brandon and Gavin are fantastic and are the key and sole reason I continue to come back for weekly flesh and blood and mtg events. I feel that the owner has no clue on how to stock the shelves. (For example there are black clocks that showed up about 3 to 4 weeks ago and the amount of them does not look like they have sold at all yet. I can’t get Stixhaven, modern horizon 2 magic the gathering set boosters and don’t get me started on the lack of flesh and blood sets or any pre constructed decks!) With them moving to this new beautiful store I would have guessed there would be a sense of pride in the store but that seems to lack with the young kids who use the front as a hang out with their friends behind the register. It seems that no one cares anymore from the higher ups and it is just sad to see the spiral of a once awesome store. Unfortunately I will have to go to the portal or another local shop to get my cards from if I don’t see any changes.

I love the atmosphere of the store. i regularly do my mtg gaming their and have built a repore with the current staff. emy and brandon are def most excellent staff (no pun intended). i regularly spend money their, however i wright this review to say they are highly understocked. too many times i have gone asking for specific items only to be told talk to the owner. i would spend more money however they are regularly understocked and understaffed. please if your the owner and you read these reviews.......Please More staff and more stock....please do these things so i can raise the stars also please do these things so i can continue to support mxg and not the portal......

If you are looking for collectibles or comics, the Most Excellent Gaming location in Manchester is a great place to visit. Their expanded location offers a large area for table games, ample parking, and a great selection of figures, game pieces, paints, plushies, and Funko Pops galore. Check them out if you are in the area. You won't be disappointed.

I absolutely love this store! I initially found out about it from my brother while going with him to trade in Pokémon cards and I became enamored with the comic book section! I actually started my collection this summer from this very store! They have a wide variety of comics books and if you can't find one here I'm sure you'll find it at their other store in Enfield. I easily get caught up in here between looking at all the comic books, trading cards, Funko Pops, statues and figurines, posters, etc! There's times I'll even sit in the back and watch people play Magic the Gathering or Pokémon matches. I appreciate this store letting my inner nerd be able to run free and everytime I visit they seem to add something new to the floor to fill out the vast amount of space they have. Def pay them a visit if you're looking for anything comic book/trading card/game related or even if you're just looking for a community. Priced are pretty good from what I've seen as well! Competitive and negotiable!

One of the best card stores near Manchester but focuses on trading card games not sports collectibles. Pokémon, Magic, Flesh and blood, and one piece are all well represented. Product pricing is very reasonable. No electronics aside from the occasional retro piece. While it’s called most excellent “gaming” don’t expect to find Xbox or PlayStation titles/accessories. The majority of the building is occupied by a massive collection of pops, comics, and other collectibles focused on comics/anime etc.Currently not a large amount of table top products Ie 40k or D&D. Don’t come expecting to find an area with terrain to play on or a DM for your party.

Tried this place again after they moved to the new location. I have not seen this place commit the cardinal sin other card shops have committed. I’m referring to marking up stock to absurd levels. They seem to be within a reasonable range similar to their contemporaries in Newington. I don’t know if they have the best prices, but they seem to be cultivating a decent community and don’t seem to be cheating people.
