Lyman Orchards Pick Your Own is a well-known farm in Connecticut, recognized as the state's best for pick-your-own fruits. With a history dating back to 1741, the farm has been growing top-quality fruits on the same land overlooking the Connecticut River Valley for over a century. Visitors can enjoy picking nearly 100 varieties of fruits from mid-June to October, including strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, honeyberries, peaches, nectarines, apples, and pears. The farm offers a large and scenic outdoor experience, with multiple orchards and activities such as wagon rides, petting zoos, and markets. Many visitors appreciate the friendly and professional staff who explain everything clearly, making family outings enjoyable. The farm also features bakery items and fresh produce at the market. While some find it a bit commercial and note prices can be high, most enjoy the variety of fruits, the outdoor walk, and special events like blueberry festivals. Overall, Lyman Orchards provides a fun, scenic, and family-friendly pick-your-own experience rooted in tradition.
Great activities here! The only problem is that if you go during the fall, it is usually very busy.

Well, I have not been to the orchards lately but I did buy a strawberry rhubarb pie at BigY in Old Saybrook and FYI we needed our very strongest and sharpest knife to cut the outer crust. Once that was accomplished the pie crust was a mess.
