This bank has treated my wife and I callously and with complete and utter disdain for some time now. It began when we complained about the bank's practice of holding deposits until an overdraft fee could be charged to our account, no matter the size of the deposit or whether or not it was direct deposit. A complaint was filed the state's Banking Department and the bank had to remove the fees and refund the money collected. This time a check was deposited to our account via the mobile app and accepted. Upon checking the status of the deposit we noticed that there was no availability of the first 200 dollars available. We called the bank and were given a bunch of bs that the hold of the first 200 dollars would take 3 days to be released. We were then told that the balance would be released at midnight of the next day from that point. Now, we are being told that the funds will be held until 5PM? This is absolutely unheard of and their excuse of a delay caused by the Federal Reserve holds no water as their is no such delay when a tax refund check is deposited. This seems to have originated with an incident at the local branch when my wife was angered by the bank's decision not to abide by their rules and regulations concerning deposits. The branch manager's response to our concern was to threaten us with the police. As people of color, this has the potential to go completely sideways with tragic consequences . This person is still employed at the bank in the same position which goes to show how much they care about customers. Be very alert and follow every transaction thoroughly when dealing with this institution especially if you are a person of color!
