Middletown Rhode Island is right in the center of Connecticut and it’s one of the nicest towns. The selection of restaurant is unbelievable.

It's a quaint college town with an eclectic downtown. In the warmer weather there are many outdoor dining options and cafes. With the notable exception of Dunkin most are local businesses. A lot has been done to clean up the vagrancy that once may have deterred visitors. I now feel it is a safe place to visit and enjoy window shopping. There are also nice greenspaces such as along the CT River at harbor walk, accessible on foot via an underground passageway evading route 9.

This review is specifically about the J & R Citgo station on South Main Street next to the laundromat. The "guy" who is generally always is the store, in spite of popular belief, is NOT friendly or nice. There have been two occasions where he tends to snatch things out of my hand and likes to keep my change after transactions. Tonight was my final time being a patron@this location. This person snatched a bag of pretzels from my 10 year old son's hand for the transaction. I looked at the attendant, he looked at me and I told my son let's go while stating I will never be spending my money here again. Yes, there are plenty of other stores on South Main I frequent but have only witnessed this behaviour at this site. Will no longer be a patron and I am not impressed by how "cheap" the watered down gas prices are. He keeps peoples' change and is passive aggressive. I'll pass.

The guys in here are super friendly. I always used to come to this gas station because of that. They remember all of my preferences and are very accommodating. However, recently their gas pumps stopped working, and they still have yet to fix them. It doesn't seem like they will be fixing them anytime soon, either. So, don't count on gas if you are attempting to stop here! It's mostly just a convenience store now.
