“Every location is different however the staples are usually in stock at the Middletown location. The Aldi Find’s aisle is a shoppers dream with limited time and seasonal items. Wednesday’s are special for new drops.”
“We stopped in yesterday for the first time. We needed a couple of plants and we were really impressed. They have a lot of plants and flowers and a nice variety. Everything is so healthy!! The plants are well organized so it’s easy to find what you’re looking for. Vivian helped us find the right plants for the conditions that they will be in. Besides plants and flowers they have both bulk and bagged mulch. They also have a farm stand. It’s easy to get to and plenty of parking. Will definitely be back.”
“Very nice family operated place. It is off the main roads, but it is very charming. You can pick fruits or berries and buy veggies at the stand.
Place is cash only, so bring some with you!”
“Jenn was so nice to work with and helped me get my order to my mom in time for her birthday! Great service and the chocolate covered strawberries were so cute and made fresh. Thank you!”
“I’ve visited this place since 1987 and enjoy the memories I just shared w my children as a child I ran next door to get a can of mackerel everyday and sebby always treated me as his own never said no weather I had enough money or not till this day I have no clue I had a few coins and he always honored me thank you sebby for the dedication you bring the community and always gave your best”
“We absolutely love Killam & Bassette Farmstead in South Glastonbury! We originally purchased a Strawberry Rhubarb Jam, and when we noticed the top had popped, they immediately told us to bring it back and swapped it out for a fresh jar with zero hassle. Their customer service is truly above and beyond.
Of course, while we were there we had to try more the Pumpkin Pie Jam and the Carrot Cake Jam and wow. Every single one is incredible. You can taste the care and craftsmanship in every jar.
Their local artisan gift shop is wonderful too, full of beautiful items and that warm, welcoming atmosphere you only get from a family run farmstead. We only wish we lived closer so we could visit more often.
Thank you for everything. You are amazing and we absolutely love your jam. We cant wait for our next visit! ????”
“Tragedy - expensive, my sick daughter bought me two soups - Ukrainian borscht and krupbik in the borscht, only vinegar in the kruonik, chemical maggi, it just made my head spin, pagan, who taught these women how to cook, it's not the kitchen, it's poison”
“Love the prices here, love that the Aldi brand items don’t have harmful additives. AND the section where they have the limited finds is definitely fun to look through.”
“Join their CSA this year. So far so good. They allow for customization of boxes, which is in theory. Really nice, but so far everything that I've wanted to swap for has been not available. And the stuff in the farm store is kind of expensive, and one of the workers was carrying around a baby chick, which is adorable and I thought was really cute when I was there, but then on my drive home I was like and she's got this live animal around all of this fresh produce and things that are meant to be consumed without cooking them again, I think maybe it's not a good idea.”
“A huge piece of property, very well maintained. We had cider doughnuts and apple cider.
The cider is the best I've tried this year. And I've had 9 different ciders from farms that press it only, with one exception b.f. Clyde's.
Worth the trip for their champagne of apples..”
“Great little farmstand with friendly staff. My family has been shopping here for ages and I can't think of a single negative experience. Love the baked goods and the wide variety of goods to browse through.”

“Although it doesn't have the wider selection of bigger stores, ALDI is one of the cheapest local grocery stores and offers good quality for the price. I have been doing most of my weekly grocery shopping here through Instacart pickup (and occasional delivery) for the past 5 years. They have been consistently reliable, accurate, and professional with pickup orders, which makes shopping much easier for me as a disabled person. On the rare occasions I've shopped in store, the clerks have been fast and efficient. My only complaint is that the back entrance driveway from Kitts Lane has potholes you'll want to watch out for.”
“Shop here all the time. Beginning of December. Celery was .95 a bundle. Not in January is 1.95. Wow price gouge. I live on veggies. Now can’t have celery. My budget is 160 a month for groceries. That is all I have in my budget for good food !!! You’re going to add.90!cents to my celery !!!!
I buy chicken where is it .99 a pound. To father celery and onion etc from Aldi for wraps. But I don’t usually buy meat here because of price and quality Veggies used to be affordable. But when Thunder certain items are selling they adjust the price. Bs. Keep it low you will get the customers to repeat sales
I find the. Bathrooms are clean. Store is clean and bright and supplies are ready available. Fun isles are fun and in season. And mostly cheaper than other places But watch the prices. They see what sells and then raise the prices when you least expect it”
“Love their pies! I prefer to buy them frozen and bake them as needed. Either way they're always a hit with the family. Bumbleberry is the fam fav. But all the pies are great; flaky crusts and stuffed with fruit.”
“Always stop to get grinder at Veggie World before our trip to Foxwoods , the grinders are always filled with meat , usually can only eat half the grinder not to much bread just right . The staff there are always friendly . Whenever I go I'm happy , very reasonable the market has plenty of other goodies also . My favorite grinder shop in Connecticut .”
“Don’t know how else to find this out. If you’ve been apple picking at Lyman in the past week, are the apples good? Are they too small or more full size? We usually go as a family every year in mid to end of October, but want to go this weekend.”
“As a local who still misses the old Middlesex Fruitery, I can say that River Ridge is a treasure that I do not take lightly…it’s amazing! The veggies are just bursting with freshness and there’s always something interesting on the shelves or in the freezer case… Like the organic wild blueberries from Maine that I’ve never seen anywhere else. It’s just really really good and worth planning around their limited hours. Great staff and free parking.”
