I shop at this Marshalls over the other local Marshalls(Meriden and Cromwell) because I feel it always has better selections and I like the store better than the others. I am hear just about every week and mostly every time I visit I almost always make a purchase. Today was not my best visit. After entering the store, I went to look at the shoes, about 2 minutes in to the store , I was approached by 2 woman asking me if I would like to joint their cocoa bible study later this afternoon. I said no Thank you and continued to peruse the store. This should not be tolerated. I would hope that when told about these woman, you would remove them from the store. Im not there to be solicited . I just want to shop in peace. When I approached the register with my items, I asked the clerk if it was possible to take a little of the marble top table I was purchasing due to the scratches on top. She then called over another woman and the woman was rude.
"What do you want now? What scratches ...I don't see any scratches." I told her if she put her glasses on she would see them. She insisted she didn't see them and just dead panned me. I asked to wipe the top down and noticed some marks were dirt but still saw the scratches. She continued to look at me confused and I said I can see them but no worries. If I change my mind I will just return it. She was not kind at all. She was a cold and rude individual. If she is a manager, I recommend you find some one else with better human interaction. It is not about the money,It was only a $40 table. I only asked if it was possible. It was how she interacted with me as a patron . That is what upsets me the most. I have been a manager for 6 years and I always try the nice approach first and what would $5 off do ....Make a happy patron come back again ?!
She could have easily said, I see the scratches but unfortunately I'm sorry it is not much damage to warrant a discount. I would have said ok , just thought I would ask but instead she took the bad attitude route. Please train your managers about Customer Service!!!

I went in yesterday and at checkout the guy asked me if I wanted to sign up for the rewards program for 10% off. I live close and shop there regularly so I agreed to sign up. He said it would take “2 minutes”, was rushing me the entire time and not once mentioned that I was signing up for a credit card. Looking back I can see that he was trying to prevent me from actually reading what I was signing. I asked him why it was asking for personal information, indicating that I didn’t fully understand what I was signing up for. And he did not answer my question, brushing it off like it was stupid to ask. I didn’t realize until after I had signed everything, and he said the card would come in the mail. I should’ve stopped halfway through. But this particular retail worker was very misleading, pushy and completely dishonest about what was going on. I didn’t know I had to be so vigilant against scams in the Marshall’s checkout. Such a headache.

Lots of great finds here. I had to go straight to the department I was there for bc I could have spent hours perusing. Great prices as one can expect with Marshall’s. I was glad to find a nice store close enough to home bc I’m pretty much 30 minutes from everything.

Love the store, extremely unhappy with my experience. I purchased 4 blankets, which are usually $16.99. They didn’t put price tags on them, and when associate went to go check, they came back and charged $29.99 per blanket. I have purchased these same blankets for $16.99 here before, and was extremely surprised and upset to see the $13 up charge. I was charged $52 more because of this. I needed the blankets as gifts, so I still purchased them, but still very upset about this. I told the associate how I knew what price they should be, but they brushed it off saying this is how they price it (I know this is not the case. I’ve bought the same brand blanket for $16.99, no special material, no size difference).

It’s been months since shopping at a Marshall’s. Too bad a couple of changes negate an otherwise good experience. It’s a shame no shopping bags are provided and after spending over $100, sales person can’t bother to fold clothes; a pile of wrinkled up blouses were pushed back to me after payment. Then as noted by others, cart locks up inside store. I have mobility issues, was alone and not having a bag; I grabbed the pile of my purchases hobbling to my car. Why not post big signs before entering store re bringing own bag and not having use of cart to take purchases back to car?
