Hours: Hospital for Special Care provides an acclaimed spectrum of medical treatment for complex rehabilitation and chronic disease for both children and adults, augmented by a range of outpatient rehabilitative services. The staff are amazing, incredible, transparent, and always in communication. They are kind, compassionate, professional, gracious, and accommodating. The clinical team fights for patients, helps them, and treats them with respect and love. The facility is committed to helping people with disabilities achieve their fullest physical and recreational potential. Services include an Autism Inpatient Unit that helps patients win their battles, find strength, and learn proper medication and coping skills. Outpatient services include consultations and aqua therapy, with therapists who are very patient and explain exercises in detail. The facility also offers membership for pool and weight room use. Patient experiences vary by unit. The rehabilitation unit features great single rooms with private bathrooms, overall good staff, decent food, and good care. The therapy unit, however, has been described as terrible, with issues like chipping paint, small rooms, long staff response times, and some rude or incompetent staff. Despite this, many individual staff members across the hospital are fantastic, giving patients their children back and helping them live their best lives.
