I’ve been an avis preferred members for a while and this is the first time ever for me leave Avis a poor rating. This location is terrible and lack customer service. As a preferred member, I typically get to a location and get my selected car no actions needed as they have my card on file. But not here, they ask for ID and credit card which I forgot. They wouldn’t let me use a debit card. What a waste of time. I had to drive all the way to Avis at Bradley airport and had no issues getting a car there.

We had called multiple times in advance before visiting to confirm that the car we wanted was available. However, when we arrived we were informed that this location doesn't even carry that type of car, and this company allows you to reserve cars online that are not actually available. We had no choice but to reserve one of their limited selection of hybrid electric cars, the kind we were looking for, and eventually chose a hybrid jeep. It had a strange smell on the interior, and its battery was completely dead. We were assured that it would charge as we drove, which convinced us to get the car. That turned out to be a bare faced lie, and we were forced to drive the entire trip on gas. Once at our destination, we were able to charge the car, but found that the battery, even at full charge, only lasts around an hour. Terrible customer service, underpaid and uninformed employees, and an overall extremely frustrating experience.

They don't rent to uber drivers they just say they don't have any cars horrible service and didn't want to give any answers to why I could make a reservation but not get a car

A waste of time. I had a reservation already reserved along withth a reservation number. They claimed my reservation wasn’t on their computer. They didn’t even bother to look it up I was quickly informed by their, I am assuming manager, that I had to complete a seven hour application online that if I were lucky enough, they may or may not deem me worthy of renting one of their vehicles. Save your money and your time. I had the feeling they only rent to individuals with a certain criteria. A disappointment

*THEY EARNED THEIR POOR RATING*Aspiring Uber driver makes an online appointment, uses Uber voucher and travels 47 mins from home to rent a vehicle AFTER making an online reservation. Upon arrival and 20 min wait told there are no Uber cars available. informed attendant how I got there - he found something - left with a vehicle that had suspension issues and brake issues - but desperate times.Two months later - informed them that the suspension was getting worse, car was dragging - can you even tell me where to take it to the shop - no reply, no help, no vehicle available.A couple weeks after - flat tire. Customer Service says they can't help me replace car because I'm an Uber Driver. Called around 9pm and opt to wait for the wrecker to tow the vehicle. By midnight I Ubered home because it was below 40°F - next morning car is still there and customer service is yelling at me for leaving the vehicle unattended. ?Decided to fix tire myself. Never received reimbursement. A month later lost the keys in the snow, temporarily. Called for assistance. Customer Service supposed to send someone out, 48 hours later, nobody ever showed up. Paid a locksmith instead.Car starts slipping and check engine light comes on. Call 800 customer service - refused to help Uber driver. No replacement vehicle. Called special team that deals with Uber drivers - refused to help replace vehicle. Called both Hartford and New Haven location - refused to provide a working vehicle. Finally told to show up Saturday morning - drive out there, no car available.Uber is how make my living so I keep renting the car even though it won't go up hills or over 62 mph because I need the income. No help. No replacement vehicle. Nothing.Catch flu season flu that turned into a super infection that turned into pneumonia. Called customer service and advised just come tow the car. Sick for 3 1/2 weeks. Car in same spot I parked it in. Call and advised that no one came and the check engine light is still on. Nothing.2 weeks later loss prevention calls. Drive car down the next day and lock keys in vehicle. Received call from location because they didn't have spare keys (remember that time I called a locksmith?) advised would use spare to unlock vehicle. Couldn't get a ride for a few days, I moved as fast as they moved to help me. Location called me 5 times threatening - so they do know how to use phone when it's on the other end but when I needed help - forward me to 800 who doesn't help Uber drivers.Loss Prevention calls and asks where the vehicle is. informed been at location since Friday and it's Tuesday - branch refused to report car returned. overcharge me $2100 - so yeah, I would avoid them at all cost.

I wish I could give them zero stars. Terrible customer service, make you waste your time and money. Avoid at all costsAlthough I booked and prepaid, when I arrived for pickup they told me they had no cars, and made me go to a different location to get one. Then they gave one car to the person behind me in line.

This place refuses rental car for Uber drivers… looks like they don’t wanna their cars getting miles. Don’t waste your making reservations for this location because they’ll ask if it is for Uber, once you answer yes, they’ll deny with no explanation.

worst customer service ever their call center make easy money just to transfer you everywhere, they had me go all the way their to try to do Uber rental just to tell me they have not been doing partnership for over a month. The customer service representative said it wasn't true. I will be looking into getting a lawyer.

This is a true low budget place, it shows by this location’s customer service, middle easter guy that can’t even speak English.No restrooms for customersEither..No need to reply to my review! Not interested in ever working with such low class facility.

The worst owner ever, has no manners whatsoever on how to treat a customer. We just entered the location and asked one or two questions for comparing prices and he pushed us to the back of the line extremely rudely. If this is how you treat your customers, then you should sit home and hope that you ever earn a single penny.

Please make sure you check your rental car inside out before renting it. Front left side of my rental car's bumper was busted and rear bumper had a scratches on it, so I took pictures of it and I told front desk guy to document it. Car was comfortable but very dirty and smelled really bad when I received it and I unfortunately forgot to take a pictures of inside of the car. Car was not vacuumed before handing over to me. I guess whoever rented before me left pet hair inside the car and this guy at front desk tried to pin it on me when I return next day. I don't even have any pets. Avis-Budget has good deals online for rental cars but customer service at their new haven locations is just far below average compared to their competitors.

All lies and deceit they'll tell you whatever to get you through the door then lie about what they told you terrible place. I don't get why the owner will not rectify these issues the reviews in here are 90 percent terrible . Shut it down
