I am not sure where these good reviews are coming from, but if you are offered Jayuan as your team leader please look elsewhere.
Ended up booking a different moving company to specifically get my stuff out of their warehouse where they just mix your stuff up with everyone else’s. To say that they have “storage” is a joke. The new moving company asked me what was up with these people from Hands On.
1. They accidentally double booked me. Innocent enough. Somehow it got lost in transit(??) that they were packing as well as moving. They show up without any tools. Even after they realize they are packing in addition to moving I repeatedly get asked are packing the living room? The bedroom? Yes, and yes.
2. I’ve moved multiple times with my same set of furniture and items and these were the slowest movers I’ve had by far despite having three movers. They showed up without tools. They left books on shelves and did not disassemble furniture, things I have never ever seen a professional mover do. It was just bizarre the way they went about the process which makes me think the team I got was inexperienced, didn’t care, or both.
3. They demanded money to “transport” my items from their warehouse in West Haven… onto the loading dock of their warehouse in West Haven. So basically they held my things hostage just so I could have the privilege of hiring a different moving company to retrieve my things from their property.

I see a lot of mixed reviews on here, which is quite surprising to me. This was by far the most pleasant moving experience I've ever had. The movers were timely, charismatic, and orderly. The price was also reasonable in my opinion. Definitely recommend!

If I could give zero starts I would, but unfortunately that is not an option. Avoid this moving company at all costs. I asked several times for a TV box, didn't bring one, they tried saying I didn't ask for one even though it was documented. This resulted in them breaking our nearly $3k TV (1 year old) and won't do anything about it. They put an ivory fabric bed into a filthy moving truck without wrapping it - turned black, and they damaged our wooden dresser as it wasn't wrapped properly either. This was back in November and they haven't responded to any emails since December, they said the TV breaking was essentially my fault because I didn't watch the movers every single move every second they were there. All of this furniture one year old that we invested in to have for years to come and handle with such little care. Spoke to the business owner on the phone, he assured me he'd take care of my claim. Complete radio silence since, he's been cc'd on all emails and not a single reply. Avoid this company if you want to keep your furniture in tact.

I cannot stress how efficient, friendly, patient, helpful, and amazing the three movers were for our move today - this is my second time using Hands On Moving and I'd use them 100 times more. Incredibly cost effective, quick, and stress-free! Thank you specifically to the three gentleman that completed our move today but thank you to everyone at the company for being fantastic! I'd recommend you in a heartbeat - total rock stars! THANK YOU! :)

This is the worst experience with a company that I’ve had in my life. I hired Hands on Moving for partial packing, moving, and storage services. They “lost” my most expensive valuables, including large items such as a flat panel TV, computer, and printer that are not easy to “lose.” Overall, they “lost” several dozen of my items, totaling more than $3000 in value. On top of that, many of my furniture items were delivered damaged, and several of my glass and ceramic items had shattered. I understand that sometimes belongings are damaged during a move, but I cannot understand how so many expensive items can be “lost.”
Do not hire this company. Read the other reviews. Individuals working for this company are stealing valuable items while they’re in storage, and the company is hiding behind its 60 cents/pound insurance policy.
Once I realized that my belongings were missing, I had to call and email the company many times before they responded to me to confirm that someone was looking for my belongings. They promised me that my items were “not gone forever.” One week later, they told me that all of these items had been lost, and all they could do to compensate was offer me $92. It has been 4 months, and I still haven’t received even the completely inadequate $92 they offered, despite multiple emails I’ve sent to the claims department that have been ignored.
It is painful to leave behind 3 years in a city that I loved with this awful experience. Save your money and your sanity, and don’t hire this company. I deeply regret doing so.

I will start with the disclaimer that I know that moving is hard work and I’m thankful that there are people who will do it. That said, this company did a mediocre job - do not recommend. We used both packing and moving services. 3 stars instead of 1 because Tyrone and Dave from the packing team were very nice and the movers were OK, they moved *most* of our stuff. However, there were several issues -
- Left behind 3 packed boxes in our old house during the move
- Forgot our monitor on their truck (though thankfully they did return it, 3 days later, after we made several calls)
- Manager who dropped off packing supplies did not include packing tape, leading to wasted time
- Showed up without tools to disassemble our beds - then needed to go buy tools during the move; leading to wasted time that we paid for
- Packed fragile items including custom picture frames and ceramic coasters without any packing material, leading to damage and breakage
- Movers showed up to our house in the morning, didn’t knock or ring the bell, called the cellphone number once, then left - then tried to charge us for the time they waited even though they did not make a good faith effort to let us know they were here (in the end we did complain about this, and they ended up not charging for it)
- Left behind excess packing material in our old house. We brought this to the movers’ attention, and they said they would pick it up, and they did not.
Overall, mediocre job.

NOT A REAL MOVING COMPANY!!!!
Do not use this company. They've likley paid for their reviews.
They are without a doubt the worst company I've ever used. They are not proffessional movers.
They broke a $30000 tv, they damaged $2500 worth of furniture by removing and stacking drawers wothoput wrapping. They ruined a $2800 bed frame by not wrapping it and getting it filthy, they then failed to rebuild it properly and it broke.
We requested a tv box, 3 times, they promised one 3 times, and guess what, they never provided one.
The receptionist got caught in lies.
They went 4-5 hours over the estimate and never checked a single thing.
They've offered us 60usd.
DO NOT USE. We are taking them to court.

Do not recommend! They showed up late. We’re disorganized for packing and moving. Staff were swearing and being unprofessional. They broke a table, scratched furniture, packed items that broke in boxes… and, after submitting claims (twice), I never had any communication from the company or compensation for the lost/damaged items. I was disappointed, to say the least, as they came highly recommended by a respected friend.

Best moving company in the business. Trustworthy, reliable, and respectful. This company and their crews go above and beyond. I have used them multiple times and they always do a tremendous job and are the only company I will use.

The wall of my apt was accidentally damaged during the moving in August. Hands on moving told me that they needed more than 3 weeks to send someone to possibly repair it. Then I had to hire someone to fix the wall before the moving out inspection. Hands on moving promised to refund me for the repairing cost. But till now, I have not received any refund.

I would love to leave 0 stars, however, I have to give 1 which they don’t deserve. So the movers showed up to my house high and smelling like marijuana. The movers broke the legs on my couch and threw them out, damage my headboard and both dressers, left behind a tote with all my pots. It took 4 months for me to receive compensation which was $76. I will never hire them again the young lady in the claims department is unprofessional and does not do her job the office manager even said it. I will not recommend customer service is horrible when your belongings are damaged but will call repeatedly to confirm your moving date.

Our movers in CT were awesome! Very efficient in their work and friendly as well. Communication with management made everything incredibly easy; I was able to move my appointments multiple times and our movers even showed up early! Can't recommend these guys enough!

Our moving experience could not of gone better! From start to finish our crew of 3 were courteous, professional and did a killer job. Typically the movers we've had in the past would complain about certain task, but this crew took everything on with a positive attitude, and did great teamwork. Anthony was an amazing leader, and lead his crew beyond our expectations. They were extremely cautious, and do not believe there were any nicks at all in the wall, and extremely fast when disassembling and assembling furniture . Planning on using them again soon!

I can’t say enough about Hands On Moving as I was in need of moving help for a short distance and Aaron & his team were absolutely wonderful from start to finish. They took a lot of the stress of my situation away which helped me immensely. I will not hesitate to contact them again. Thank you so much ☺️!!
