About John Lyman Center for the Performing Arts
The John Lyman Center for the Performing Arts is a great venue that hosts a variety of shows, including jazz series in the spring and fall. It offers excellent acoustics and a cozy, intimate setting that makes audiences feel close to the performers, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Visitors have enjoyed performances by artists like Kirk Whalum and Gloria Estefan, with some sharing that the shows are inspiring and entertaining. Customer service is often praised as being very good, and the seating arrangements are appreciated, especially for family-friendly events where guests can go on stage during intermission. However, some reviews mention issues with lighting, such as blinding spotlights during a Christmas show. While the venue was more lively in the past, recent visits note a more controlled, older crowd with a calmer vibe. Overall, it remains a beloved place for performances and special events.

Ample parking next to the building. The space is accessible, the layout is broad and feels comfortably expansive and the acoustics were good for my hearing. They offered a hearing assistance device to those who wanted them.
Very welcoming.
