I attended the Sunday meditation and they were very welcoming. The instructor offered a brief intro on the typical meditation approach, but invited me to do what I feel comfortable with in terms of adjustments. People can come and go during these Sunday slots and it seemed like a lovely community.

At the New Haven Shambhala Center, we strive to provide a safe, supportive and respectful environment for the practice and study of the Buddhist and Shambhala teachings. We are heartbroken, saddened, confused and angry over the accounts of sexual misconduct and abuse of power by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, Shambhala’s lineage holder, and other senior teachers in Shambhala. We remain committed to supporting anyone interested in the practice of meditation, the study of Buddhism, and the development of a community that embodies the principles of a genuinely enlightened and compassionate society.
