The Shubert Theatre, located at 247 College Street in New Haven, Connecticut, is a historic 1,664-seat venue opened in 1914. It is known for its excellent customer service and a friendly, welcoming staff. Many visitors have had positive experiences attending various performances, including "Mean Girls," "The Simon & Garfunkel Story," and "Rhythm India." While the theatre offers a great atmosphere for shows, some seating areas, such as the balcony, have steep stairs which may not be suitable for everyone. However, the staff is attentive and responsive to guests' needs, as demonstrated by their efforts to accommodate those who may feel uncomfortable. For instance, when a guest experienced vertigo in the balcony, the ushers and managers quickly arranged for a more suitable seating option, ensuring an enjoyable experience. Overall, the Shubert Theatre is praised for its diverse programming and commitment to inclusivity, making it a recommended destination for anyone looking to enjoy a performance in a historic setting. Visitors appreciate the seamless ticket purchasing and parking options nearby, further enhancing their experience. The theatre continues to be a beloved venue for both locals and visitors alike.
Awesome, historic, intimate venue. Only about 1500 seats. Prices were very reasonable (8th row center) amazing seats. Crown parking right next door only $10. Restaurants everywhere. We loved it!
