The USPS employee named Bob when we visited this morning was super helpful and friendly, far away from the bad reviews we read regarding this USPS branch along Fontain street here at New Haven.

I don't understand the 1 star ratings, but maybe I never met that specific employee or something. My timings are mostly from 11am - 1pm because my mom always goes at this time, saying it's less busy as they start opening compared to later times. I find it empty a lot with maybe a couple of people delivering their stuff. The employee is always either an African lady or a Caucasian man, and they do their job respectfully and diligently, and they're always kind, especially with my disability that they don't know about. My mail is always sent on time with everything intact, I only had one mishap and that's because I sold a non paper item in an envelope that only requires paper, and the employee didn't know that I was stupid without my mom present, so I excuse the mistake. I will always trust that USPS location, regardless of the other reviews and have since I was a child, receiving letters across states, from my grandmother, sending large packages to a hospice, etc. I have never used a different location.

Not sure if the employees here have ever been inside a post office themselves
to not having Box sizes the guy tried to tell me that they didn’t make an express priority mail shipping box
Terrible customer service definitely go to the Office on Whaley next to the plaza

I stopped coming here years ago. I drive by sometimes and laugh seeing long lines, or people getting angry because the doors are locked during business hours. They've lost hundreds of dollars of my packages, and are deeply inept at basic tasks.
This is in direct contrast with other USPS locations. The one in Orange is fantastic, and the one in Amity is full of people who should have master's degrees (like actual geniuses). Yale and Hamden USPS are good, even the one in the Hill is better than this one.

Went there at 2:15 to get a small package shipped, lady at the desk had no name tag or else I would’ve added the name but it was slow only one person behind me. I greeted her no reply, didn’t ask me to confirm the address, didn’t do the regular spiel of is anything fragile perishable etc, didn’t ask what price option I wanted, didn’t give me my total, didn’t tell me my change absolutely silent the entire transaction didn’t even look at me once. She had her headphones in and messing with her phone, wished her a good day and still nothing. I’ll take that job if you don’t want it ?

Whent this morning twice first it says it opens at 8:30-9oclock comes still aint open i go back the lady on her phone im waiting for more then 10 min place empty she dont call on me i go to the window for then to tell me she cant cash my money order they never have "MONEY"to cash money ordera never!!

One of the WORST USPS! Extremely SLOW! The staff took over 10 min and did not finish with one guy making 5 people waiting there!
