Even just walking around was gorgeous. We were visiting the area and went here and loved just spending the time. Planning our next trip around going there again

It's beautiful but I wish that they would add on the pier a fish cleaning table and last 50-75yards strictly for jetty fisherman with heavier fishing gear. Also to mark the pier with paint or such to make people aware to not cross it. Also to make a walking pathway down the middle like a bike path on side of street to essentially keep people walking up and down clear from the people fishing. Also wish they would update the pier as well and make essential upgrades to make it look nicer and make a wider platform at the end like the capital T. Besides that what's there not to like about fort trumbull.Restrooms: Bathrooms are open hit or miss during the year. The off season there is a portapotty to use.

Nice park with great views and a lot of history. We got to see the USCG Eagle docked here. The place is well kept, easy to walk and we skipped going in to see the inside and we still loved it.

Standing firm on the bank of the Thames River originally constructed in1777. It was attacked in 1781 during the American Revolutionary War and was captured by British forces under the command of Benedict Arnold. Today It is open to the general public and ideal for dog walkers and joggers

Educational, friendly staff, well maintained, and great views. Great place to stop for an hour or so to learn about the history of the fort and surrounding area. Would definitely recommend if you have the time. Fishing is allowed on the pier in front of the fort.

Very well done museum displays in the Visitor Center, and a large fascinating Civil War Fort built on top of the Revolutionary War Fort that was the source of Benedict Arnold's reputation as a traitor. First home of the Coast Guard Academy. Important and well presented history. The kids will love it. Majestic views up and down the Thames River from the top of the Fort. Large grounds, picnic area, large off-street parking lot, 24hr fishing pier and a second pier where the Coast Guard's tall ship "Eagle" docks when in town welcoming visitors aboard for tours, and where the local water taxi makes hourly stops while on its river tour.
