Had lunch at Lighthouse Inn today. Excellent! The French onion soup was perfect and a meal in itself. I had clams, mussels and calamari over linguine. Fresh and delicious. The portions are very large so go hungry.Lighthouse Inn is the gem of New London. It's an elegant place. Today, a cozy fire in the lovely fireplace set a lovely, romantic ambiance.Going back for sure.

My sister came into town so she joined our family for dinner at the Pub at Lighthouse Inn. It was awesome! We had no trouble getting a reservation for a Saturday night. The live music was excellent & set the chill vibe we were looking for.The food was delicious - Beef ragout with gnocchi, Mushroom risotto with Scallops & Shrimp, Spicy Chicken sandwich, and Spare Ribs with sautéed spinach & polenta. Dessert was also fabulous, we had apple pumpkin cake with candies walnuts and super rich tiramisu.Drink specials & cocktails were perfect for the holiday season. Speaking of holidays, we loved the simple, elegant decor! I can't wait to come back again when the historic beauty is surrounded by snow.Noteworthy details: The early 1900's charm makes sparks fly. Great ambiance and super cozy feel.

Thanksgiving was subpar. Food stations were not filled, service was new, and bathroom was closed.

Been going here since it originally opened for as long as I could remember. Food was always good. Then when it closed it was upsetting. When I heard it was reopening as well as the lighthouse inn(later on in possibly 2023 in late summer) I was thrilled. So I had gone a few days after opening. The food was alright and they only had some beer and wine options. Now as of the time of reviewing and returning after several trips since reopening, they gave their liquor license and the food has significantly improved. I'd suggest the clam chowder, tavern burger, NY Strip, their salads, and the brownie cheese cake. Obviously they have many other good options. The one I'd suggest to maybe pass on it the fried chicken sandwich. The crust holds onto to much grease and it a off putting taste. Maybe they will try a different flour or breading for it but for that item I'd suggest to pass. Their adult liquor drinks can be on the strong side so be for warned. If that's okay with you then great. I don't mind it especially after a long day/week. But the staff and all who work there is fantastic from the hosts to the servers especially the people that make the drinks like Liz and Steve. So next time your in the area please give them a try. The prices vary from about $10-$32 I believe which is the NY strip steak. You won't be hopefully disappointed. Tell them I sent ya.Parking: Parking spots are tight and limited but that's alright because the many times I've gone not all the spots were taken.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes.

I practically grew up at the beautiful Lighthouse Inn in lovely New London, CT because my parents and I spent most weekends going to dinner there after a day at the beach. The staff was fabulous and we really got to know them. One server named Ann used to make me poodles by crocheting (or knitting?) Then to fit over an empty, thoroughly cleaned out Clorox bottle. She also made my Mom a most beautiful Afghan blanket too. My Mom would lay under that blanket every day when she took a nap. After my Mon passed away, I inherited that beautiful, worn out blanket. We were truly family when we went to the Lighthouse Inn and I wish it would reopen. At least my parents got to have their 50th anniversary there, which was so fittingto have it there with our family and our Lighthouse Inn family. My father passed away shortly after that and my Mom followed the year after. They were high school sweethearts so I knew my Mom wouldn't last long after her sweetheart passed.

After my first visit to the state of Connecticut, I left here feeling like I left friends in the state. The waitstaff and owner were THAT personable and kind. The place was gorgeous inside. It had a true old, authentic feel from the time period that it was built. And the owner and the waitress were delightful enough to fill us in on many of the details of its history. The food exceeded my husband and mine’s expectations. The clam bisque was the best we had yet on our New England trip. And the fish ‘n chips was excellent too. The waitstaff recommended some awesome places to visit nearby after our lunch. We took full advantage of their suggestions and had a great rest of our day. We will definitely stop in again next time we visit New England!

Best place for a Birthday lunch. The clam bisque is a must have and it packs a pleasant surprise. Everything was exceptional. If you have a choice on your fries, do yourself a favor and choose the sweet potatoes. The carrot cake is a must foryour birthday. My crab cake sandwich was delicious. The spicy Bloody Mary is also highly recommended.

Very nice atmosphere and staff. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. The restoration of this building is amazing. Great for either formal or casual dining. Hopefully they will open rooms and run as an Inn again someday. Lots of potential.

Received a gift certificate to the Lighthouse Inn for the holiday. We finally used the certificate today. We had a wonderful time. The service was very good, the food good and the restaurant was very nice. The owners have done an excellent job restoring the building. Overall we had a five star experience.

I got the Braised Lamb with Polenta and Spinach. It Was Perfect. Mouth Watering Tender. I almost Switched to Mashed Potatoes but My Wonderful Waitress suggested I try the Polenta. I'm So Glad She Did. The Ambience is Stunning. Great Night. ❤

I hate to give this gorgeous place only three stars! Lunch menu is very limited and some items quite pricey. The clam bisque was delicious but $10,the top of my burger bun was burnt on the edges and I asked for medium but got closer to well done. Hopefully the staff is just working out some links because years ago the food was delicious! I have to give a shout out to our waitress though,I didn't catch her name but she was excellent!

While the restaurant has faced many challenges before once again reopening its doors, it was - I’m sorry to say - disappointing. The menu was extremely limited and overpriced. They were also out of a lot of things and unprepared to serve a bottle of wine (it had to be chilled first). The server definitely had not waited tables previously. I would not have expected this at what was at least once considered a fine dining hot spot. While our food - which came out very slow - was actually quite good…I hesitate to recommend this restaurant just yet. I envision it becoming a bit of a tourist trap, not a place locals will go, which back in the day we would’ve looked forward too. It’s such a shame because this is an absolutely wonderful location and the workers who renovated the building did an amazing job. It’s truly a piece of New London’s great history. Hopefully, as time goes on this restaurant will expand it menu, improve its staff and reflect the message the new owners, the community and the beautiful building hope to send.

Went to try the food. Don't bother, menu was extremely limited and the food lacked any imagination or flavor. My wife and I both ordered the Seafood risotto. It came with 3 pieces of shrimp and 2 scallops, the risotto had the consistency of porridge and about as much depth of flavor as a shallow rain puddle.
