“I entered Bob’s Discount Furniture as a man who needed a sofa and a chair.
I emerged changed.
The prices were excellent. The furniture was comfortable. The staff treated me with a level of kindness and competence I had previously assumed disappeared sometime around 2019.
At one point I sat on a sofa and thought, “Yes. This is where I will grow old.”
The entire transaction was so effortless that I became suspicious. Surely there would be adversity. A hidden fee. An ancient riddle. Perhaps combat.
There was none.
I simply selected furniture, paid a reasonable amount of money, and left happy, which, in the modern American retail environment, borders on supernatural.
I cannot say with certainty that Bob’s Discount Furniture can heal our divided nation.
But I bought a sofa and a chair there yesterday, and for the first time in years, I believe it might be possible.

“Because we were lucky enough to be greeted by Jackie when we entered the store, we walked out of the store with two Tempur-pedic adjustable beds and a couch. The explanation of her personal experience with the Tempur-pedic adjustable bed, answered all concerns. Jackie steered us to exactly what we needed. She knew every little specification for everything. She did all this while being very pregnant, yet very energetic.
The store is very nicely laid out, but in full disclosure, it was me that unplugged the stereo couch that was blasting Top Gun - at top volume and vibration- throughout the section of store where we were doing the purchase. To the other customers, you are welcome!”
